Lily Collins dons an oversized frilly pink dress for Glamour shoot with Emily In Paris’ Ashley Park

Emily In Paris star Lily Collins looked sensational in a frilly pink tiered dress as she posed for Glamour’s January 2022 issue.

The actress, 32, was joined by her co-star and close friend Ashley Park, 30, who matched her in a figure-hugging orange minidress featuring an oversized mesh train.

Discussing their friendship, Lily, the daughter of Genesis singer Phil Collins, said: ‘It’s such an amazing experience to meet someone as an adult, when you’re an adult, and gravitate towards them so strongly, like a friendship soulmate.

‘Ashley makes me not question and doubt who I am now.’

She went on to tell the magazine of her titular character: ‘Emily ultimately really values her friendships. And [in] season two, she really leans into the female friendships, which is something that I really was excited about pursuing more of.’

Reflecting on her 2009 picture, The Blind Side, she said: ‘My first film was with Sandra Bullock, and she helped guide me through that experience.

‘And we stayed in touch, and she’s just such a warm, wonderful spirit, who just really took me under her wing.

‘Julia Roberts is the same way; on Mirror, Mirror she’s playing my evil queen, and yet she couldn’t have been more warm – and helping me to understand and navigate a set.’

Recalling the fun of spending days off with her BFF in Paris, Ashley said: ‘Me and Lily, if we ever had a day off, we’d wander the streets together…

‘We were sitting in the Tuileries Gardens, just catching up on everything – and we had masks and sunglasses on – and we just kept on getting recognised!

‘Even what we thought the demographic of our show was. We were so happy that they were so enthusiastic about it, but also just middle-aged men came up and were like, “Oh, it’s you guys.” Not a single person came up to us with a negative response.’

Sharing her thoughts on the representation of her character, Mindy Chen, she added: ‘What I love about Mindy, is not that there’s an Asian person on the show.

‘I love that all of the people – the 58 million households who watched in the first week – associate, now, an Asian person with being the person that you can trust, the person who is good.’

On becoming more resilient after being diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 15, she confessed: ‘I grew up in a town that was mostly white, so I didn’t want to be the only Asian girl.

‘I would rather be the smart girl, the nice girl, the sweet girl or the funny girl. Then all of a sudden, I was the sick girl.

‘And I think that’s what that experience taught me; resilience, and it also showed me the kinds of people that you would want in your life.’

It comes after Lily appeared to confirm there will be a third season of her hit show as she toyed with fans that the show could take place in Berlin.

And Lily’s co-stars including Samuel Arnold and Ashley admitted they’d love to film there with even the official account of the show giving their stamp of approval.

Fans got excited after Lily reposted a picture of herself modelling for Vogue Hong Kong alongside a comment from a fan suggesting the style was more ‘Emily In Berlin’ and she teased in response: ‘Season 3 pivot??? Who’s with me?’

Lily produced the second season and starred as the Chicago native, who works as Savoir social media strategist despite never learning to speak or write French – much to some of her colleagues’ annoyance.
