Lily Collins celebrated her first Valentine’s Day as a mom, sharing a sweet photo of her family. 

The Emily in Paris star, 35, stayed true to her television character, snapping a selfie of herself, her husband of three years Charlie McDowell, 41, their baby daughter Tove, and their fur baby. 

In her Instagram Stories, Collins shared a flashback photo of herself and McDowell writing, ‘How it started,’ and then re-shared the new family photo writing, ‘How it’s going.’ 

Next to the family photo shared on the main page of her account, the new mother gushed,  ‘I truly can’t imagine feeling more love. Valentine’s Day (and every day) just got a whole lot sweeter…’  

‘Now I’m crying (they’re happy tears dw)’ wrote Emily in Paris co-star Paul Forman.

Collins looked cozy in a gray cashmere sweater, with her dark hair styled in a straight bob and the family lay together in a bed. 

She showcased her flawless complexion, wearing little makeup.

McDowell, looked peaceful in a black hoodie.

Little Tove seemed to be enjoying a blissful nap, with her binky for comfort, looking adorable in a beige and brown overall set. 

Furry little Redford seemed to love being cuddled up to his little human sister. 

The couple revealed they had welcomed the baby via surrogate on January 31, sharing her full name when they wrote, ‘Welcome to the center of our world Tove Jane McDowell. Words will never express our endless gratitude for our incredible surrogate and everyone who helped us along the way. We love you to the moon and back again…’

The pair received a lot of backlash online for using a surrogate to have Tove, and McDowell quickly shut it down. 

‘Thank you for all the kind messages and love. We are overjoyed and very grateful,’ he wrote before getting down to business.

‘In regards to the unkind messages about surrogacy and our path to having a baby— it’s ok to not be an expert on surrogacy. It’s ok to not know why someone might need a surrogate to have a child. It’s ok to not know the motivations of a surrogate regardless of what you assume,’ he wrote.

Continuing he addressed the cruel comments, saying, ‘And it’s ok to spend less time spewing hateful words into the world, especially in regards to a beautiful baby girl who has brought a lot of love into people’s lives.’

Ending he message with a dash of humor he said, ‘That’s all for now because she just pooped and I need to change her diaper.’

The National Institutes of Health estimated that from 1999 to 2013, there were 30,927  surrogate pregnancies in the US. Not all of those pregnancies had the hoped for outcome, as the number of babies born during that time was 18,400.
