Lincoln Younes joins Callan Mulvey on set Last King of the Cross in Sydney

And on Friday, Lincoln Younes was busy at work filming scenes as nightclub identity John Ibrahim for his new upcoming mini-series Last King of the Cross.

The 30-year-old kept warm in a Nike puffer jacket and blue jeans as he chatted to cast members on set at Sydney’s Botanic Gardens.

He was joined by Kiwi-born Australian actor Callan Mulvey, 47, who also wore a black puffer jacket.

Lincoln wore his luscious thick black hair swept back and relaxed as he took a break from filming.

The 10-part series will tell the story of brothers John and Sam Ibrahim, who were prominent figures in the Kings Cross nightclub district.

The series may also explore key events in John’s life, including surviving a near fatal stabbing and other attempts on his life.

After an exhaustive search spanning almost two years, it's understood Younes - who is half Australian and half Lebanese - beat out a number of other actors vying to play Ibrahim in the book-turned-mini-series Last King Of The Cross

British actor Tim Roth, who scored an Oscar nomination for the film Rob Roy in 1995, plays fictional crime boss Ezra Shipman on the show.

He replaced Deadwood star Ian McShane, who was originally cast in the role but had to leave the production due to health reasons.

The cast also includes Damian Walshe-Howling (Under­belly), Tess Haubrich (Alien: Covenant) and Matt Nable (Arrow).

Award-winning writer-director Kieran Darcy-Smith will helm the crime-drama.

Ibrahim was born in Tripoli, Lebanon and emigrated to Australia in the early ’70s before making his way in Sydney’s nightlife scene – a rise which will form the backdrop of the upcoming series.

He has been dating model Sarah Budge, whom he met after buying the Potts Point building where she operated a restaurant, since 2015. 

Lincoln, meanwhile, was born and raised in Australia by his single mother but his biological father hails from Lebanon.

He has appeared in string of popular shows including Home and Away, Tangle, Doctor Doctor, Love Child and the US TV series Grand Hotel.
