Lionel Messi has been named in Argentina Copa America squad, but Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi has missed out on a spot.
Argentina released their 23-man squad for the tournament on Tuesday afternoon which includes four Premier League players – Sergio Aguero, Juan Foyth, Nicolas Otamendi and Roberto Pereyra.
Barcelona star Messi will be looking for redemption at this year’s tournament, having missed a spot-kick as Argentina were defeated by Chile in the 2016 Copa America final via a shootout.

The 31-year-old, who has never won an international trophy, announced his retirement after that defeat before reversing his decision less than two months later.
Messi has experienced severe heartache on the international stage, coming off second best in three Copa America finals and losing in the World Cup final against Germany back in 2014.
The forward, who has only represented his country on one occasion since the World Cup in Russia last summer, will hope he can help paint a different narrative this time.
One player who will be unable to have an impact Argentina’s hopes is Inter striker Icardi.

Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi has not been included in the team after a frustrating season
Usually a regular in Argentina’s squad, the 26-year-old has this time been left disappointed, having been omitted due to an underwhelming campaign in Italy which was significantly interrupted by a contract dispute with his club.
Icardi still managed to net 17 times in 36 games in all competitions but has been overlooked with his team-mate Lautaro Martinez preferred instead.
Lionel Scaloni’s men host Nicaragua next month in a warm-up friendly for the tournament in Brazil.
Argentina have been drawn in Group B alongside Colombia, Paraguay and 2022 World Cup hosts Qatar.
