To honour his 15th year, his long-running sponsor adidas have decided to remake the boots Messi wore on his Barcelona debut against Espanyol – which is exactly 15 years ago on Wednesday.

Called NEMEZIZ 19+, they feature a white and gold colour scheme and, according to adidas, pay homage to his many ‘remarkable moments’.

The left boot is emblazoned with his number 10 and the right boot has the minute he come – 82 – and the date of the game – 16-10-2004.

Oher notable additions include the letter M, hints of white and blue to celebrate his Argentine heritage and golden crown.

Messi is expected to wear them on Saturday when Barcelona take on Eibar in La Liga.

It is the same day that any fans wanting to buy the boots can do so for a hefty price tag of £219.95.
