Retired competitive swimmer Lisa Curry has revealed she’s out of hospital and back on the road again following a worrying health scare just days earlier.
On Sunday, the 59-year-old shared a picture alongside her husband Mark Tabone confirming the duo were headed to Mackay in Queensland, where she will be fronting a health and wellbeing chat.
Despite confirming she was hospitalised for five days after suffering from ‘chest pains’ on Wednesday, Lisa appeared in high spirits as she posed for a photo with her partner and shared her excitement for her trip.

‘On the road … see you soon Mackay,’ she wrote alongside the beaming image.
Lisa married her Elvis impersonator husband, Mark, 55, in 2018 in an intimate ceremony in Queensland.
The pair’s campervan road trip will see her speak at different regional and rural ‘Happy Healthy You’ workshops, while he will be ‘entertaining’.
The athlete had confirmed her hospital stint in a heartbreak Instagram days earlier, where she hinted her physical symptoms were caused by grief as she said: ‘You can’t test for heartache’.
She shared the news alongside a previously unseen photo of Jaimi, who died age 33 last September.

‘It’s day five after coming in with chest pain, a wide squeezing band around my chest and back. All my tests are good. Everyone is stumped,’ Lisa wrote.
‘But, you can’t test for heartache.’
Jaimi had battled alcoholism and an eating disorder for years before she died at a Sunshine Coast hospital on September 14, 2020.
Lisa continued: ‘For every beautiful photo of our girl, there are 10 sad ones. As I lie here thinking about our Jaimi, I wanted to show you how much she hurt too.

‘Broken hearted by things that people said to her and did to her.
‘Words and actions hurt people so deep that they store that trauma for such a long time. Some people can get through it.. some live with it, some just can’t.’
Over the past few months, Lisa has shared several Instagram posts about how she’s struggling to cope with the loss of her daughter.
In Wednesday’s post, she added: ‘There are many people, like Jaimi, who are beautiful, soft, fragile, sensitive, and are taken advantage of, their trust misused and abused.

‘There are some really questionable people who take advantage of others who are fragile, who go on to live their lives not having a clue the damage they’ve left.
‘In the (written) stages of grief, there is shock and denial, pain and guilt, anger and bargaining, depression, the upward turn, reconstruction and working through, and, acceptance and hope.’
Lisa went on to say that those stages of grief ‘overlap’ and don’t ‘come and go easily’.
But she added that she is finding it easier to manage her tremendous sense of loss by writing down her feelings.
‘I’ve found that writing things down is helping. People reaching out to me, although hard, is also helping… because we’re not alone,’ she added.

‘You never know what will trigger the heartache, or the tears. It could be a word, a thought, a song, a photo, a memory, a hug from a stranger… all we need is a hug… and understanding. Nothing even needs to be said.’
She concluded with a message of support to those who are also grieving, hoping they can find ‘beauty in the sadness’.
‘Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow,’ she wrote, before urging anyone experiencing chest pains to immediately call Triple 0.
Lisa, who won 15 gold medals during her swimming career, has suffered from several health issues in the past.

In 2008, she underwent heart surgery for a condition known as myocarditis which, if left unchecked, can result in cardiac arrest.
Seven years later, the sporting legend underwent heart surgery again to fix her cardioverter-defibrillator.
The implanted device can detect and deal with a dangerous, fast heart rhythm by delivering of an internal shock or applying a burst of pacing.
The defibrillator will stay with Lisa for the rest of her life.
Lisa and her ex-husband Grant Kenny, 57, are also parents to son Jett, 27, and daughter Morgan, 29.
