‘You’re 11 times less likely to have urinary tract infection. Eight times less likely to carry HIV. Almost impossible for you to pass on the HPV virus to girls.

‘Bloody oath, we had the boys circumcised. I watched it and I did this specifically because everyone carries on about how bad it is for the child. I was the first person the doctor let actually watch them do it.’

As his campmates grimaced around him, he continued oblivious: ‘I watched both of them. The greatest pain was getting the injection for the anaesthetic. The rest of was as if they were crying because they were changing the nappy.’

Lisa also revealed she had a Cesarean with her pregnancy because she was ‘too reticent to rip’ – although David joked that she was ‘too posh to push’.

Things took a tense turn when David became embroiled in a war of words with Paul over his decision to circumcise his sons.

David said: ‘It’s not what I believe. All of the medical science shows that categorically. Google it when you get home.’

Paul countered: ‘Why not give the child the opportunity? It’s a God given thing.’

But David shot back: ‘It’s a nonsense argument. The chosen people always take them off as a matter of course. How would you argue with them?’

‘Why not take one of their eyes out at the same time?’ the former royal butler asked.

‘Because the foreskin serves no purpose instead of getting in the way,’ David said, to which Paul shot back: ‘Neither do your nipples, will you take them off?’

Faltering, David said: ‘No, they don’t cause an issue. If you had appendicitis would you leave it in or die or have it taken out? If it was infected or bursting, you would take it out.’
