Lisa Snowdon, 51, reveals she’s ‘at peace’ with not having children

Lisa Snowdon has revealed that she’s ‘at peace’ with not having children.

The presenter, 51, who has been engaged to fiancé George since 2016, went through early menopause at 44 and will no longer be able to have biological kids with her partner.

And in a new interview, despite the couple planning their future, Lisa said she accepts that having children won’t be part of it as she admits she feels ‘like everything is as it is meant to be.’

She told Prima magazine: ‘I’m at peace now with not having children. I feel like everything is as it is meant to be.

‘When George and I got back together, I said, “You know, if we want to have kids, we probably need to get on with that.”

He said, “Why don’t you and I just go on adventures together?” It immediately took the pressure off.’

Lisa has been open about her ‘many struggles with fertility’ in the past, with the TV star last week opening up about her devastating miscarriage following violent attack from an abusive ex boyfriend.

But the star has since found happiness with entrepreneur George, with the couple content with a life with just the two of them.

The model and presenter first dated George 22 years ago when they both worked for MTV, but it wasn’t until the pair were reintroduced to each other through a mutual friend in 2015 that their relationship was rekindled.

In January 2017, the couple announced they were engaged after George proposed to Lisa just five weeks after she left the 2016 series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

And in her candid chat with the publication, Lisa explained how she ‘manifested’ her partner back into her life after coming to the realisation that she was ‘worthy’ of being loved.

She said: ‘To meet the right person, you have to believe you’re worthy of being loved. I used to lie in bed at night and write a list on the ceiling of all the qualities I wanted in a man. I manifested George and he came back into my life.’

Lisa has often described her long-term partner as her rock as he helped her through the menopause, and in the past has said that ‘being a mum wasn’t meant for her in this life’ after going through that stage of her life.

She said of her experience with it: ‘There were moments when I felt like nothing would make me happy. I just wanted to shut everyone out and hibernate.

‘I didn’t like myself, and I didn’t like that I was feeling blue because I could see how lucky I was. I had a gorgeous partner and family; I was trying to practise gratitude, but this dark cloud remained.’

Last year the star further opened up about her struggle with menopause, telling The Daily Express that she struggled with sleep deprivation, ‘angry rages’ and weight gain throughout her battle.

Lisa, who is supporting the MenopauZzz campaign that helps women suffering sleep issues due to the condition, said at times she ‘didn’t want to be here’.

She said sleep deprivation was the number one issue she dealt with during menopause and struggled keeping up with her career while extremely tired.

‘For me, lack of sleep was the thing that sent me to my rock bottom when I first started going through menopause,’ Lisa told the publication.

The presenter and media personality said she struggled with weight gain and put on three stone at one point.

When she was premenopausal, she suffered from anxiety and was prescribed antidepressants which she only took for five months.

She later switched to body identical hormone replacement therapy (HRT), prescribed hormonal medication, to help manage her symptoms and said she now feels better than ever.
