The nation’s capital is poised to get a lesson in a whole new set of rules this weekend – the Vanderpump Rules – when Lisa Vanderpump and Ariana Madix jet to DC to attend the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner as honored guests of DailyMail.com.
Perhaps the only drama currently capable of competing with what’s been happening this season on Vanderpump Rules are the goings on beyond the beltway in Washington DC politics.
First timers to the WHCA dinner, Lisa and Ariana exclusively gushed to DailyMail.com about their excitement. ‘I don’t know what’s more complicated reality television or politics – I guess I’ll find out on Saturday evening,’ Lisa quipped.
DC bound: The nation’s capital is poised to get a lesson in a whole new set of rules this weekend – the Vanderpump Rules – when Lisa Vanderpump and Ariana Madix jet to DC to attend the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner as honored guests of DailyMail.com
‘I’m delighted to be attending this year’s White House Correspondents Association dinner as a guest of DailyMail.com,’ said Vanderpump.
Joining Lisa will be Rules co-star, Ariana Madix, who is in the wake of her recent relationship implosion with Tom Sandoval.
The 37-year-old blonde bombshell revealed that attending the WHCA dinner is a special way for her to honor her beloved grandmother.
‘I’m so thrilled and honored to be invited by DailyMail.com. I watch the dinner on TV every year and have always dreamed of being there in person,’ she told DailyMail.com.

‘My wonderful late grandmother was very active in local politics and I’ve always dreamed of visiting the White House, so this is an incredible honor.’
Lisa added: ‘I’m also looking forward to visiting Capitol Hill again after we successfully passed resolution 401.’
The restaurant mogul and animal activist spent quite a bit of time on the Hill in 2018 to pass H.R. 401, a bill aimed at condemning the dog and cat meat trade as well as urging all other nations to outlaw the barbaric practice.
Lisa also championed the Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act which makes certain types of animal abuse a felony. Congress passed the act unanimously.
Iconic! Martha Stewart was Daily Mail’s celebrity guest last year and a photo that night of her with the then-couple Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson went viral
This year’s event, which is affectionately known as ‘nerd prom’, will be hosted by stand-up comic and Daily Show correspondent Roy Wood Jr.
‘We’re delighted to welcome Lisa and Ariana as Daily Mail’s guests to this year’s dinner as we celebrate the First Amendment,’ said Sean Walsh, Global Chief Brand Officer and Managing Director, US Operations.
Last year, domestic goddess, Martha Stewart attended the event as Daily Mail’s celebrity guest. A snapshot of Martha with Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson, who were making their first public appearances as a couple at the time, went viral.
The WHCA dinner comes in the midst of the most dramatic season yet of Vanderpump Rules which airs the affair – or Scandoval – between Tom Sandoval, 39, and Raquel Leviss, 28.
The dinner is an annual fundraising event held by the White House Correspondents’ Association to raise money for journalism scholarships.
Last year, the soiree was helmed by former Daily Show host Trevor Noah, the first comedian to headline the event since Michelle Wolf in 2018.
It brings together journalists, politicians and celebrities under one roof for a rare night away from politics where the well-heeled can let their hair down.
For years, comedians have poked fun at political leaders and journalists alike at the Correspondents’ dinner. Previous hosts have included Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers.
Every president since Calvin Coolidge had attended the WHCA’s annual dinner with the exception of Trump.
