Lisa Wilkinson caught watching the Today show

She sensationally walked out on the Today show this month after her reported demands for pay parity with co-host Karl Stefanovic weren’t met.

But it appears Lisa Wilkinson may be missing her gig at Nine after she tuned into a live stream coming from her old studio.

The 57-year-old was caught watching the live video on the official Today show Instagram account on Friday morning.

A screenshot shows how the future Network Ten journalist joined a small group of people watching Today Extra hosts David Campbell and Sonia Kruger take their seats at her old desk.

Lisa is preparing for her role as a co-host on The Project – which doesn’t begin until January 2018.

Until then, the veteran journalist appears to have plenty of time on her hands to tune in and watch her former colleagues on morning television.

Her viewership comes the same day as former colleague Sylvia Jeffreys admitted she was caught off guard by her sudden departure.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, the 31-year-old said she was ‘surprised’ by the news.

‘I heard about the same time that everyone else did,’ the blonde beauty explained to the publication.

Sylvia admitted she wasn’t given a heads-up before Lisa announced she was leaving the network to take up a role at The Project.

‘It was as big of a shock to me as it was to everyone else … I felt surprised,’ Sylvia said.

On Thursday, the journalist responded to speculation that she was set to take the reins from Lisa, now that her former job is up for grabs.

Asked whether she was about to nab the coveted role, Sylvia told Daily Mail Australia: ‘You’d have to ask my boss that question if you like!’

The TV personality was coy about whether she’d say ‘yes’ if offered the role.

Skirting around the question, she answered: ‘I’m very much focused on getting to work at 4 o’clock as I always am and doing my job.’
