Liverpool completed their impressive pre-season in style as Jurgen Klopp’s four summer signings enjoyed winning Anfield debuts.
The £170million quartet of Allison, Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri and Fabinho were heartily welcomed by The Kop in Liverpool’s ninth and final warm-up fixture though Fabinho won’t stay on penalty duties for the big kick off against West Ham on Sunday after fluffing his early spot-kick.
The Brazilian surprisingly stepped up instead of Mo Salah after a foul on Sadio Mane but dragged his shot wide of the left-hand post.

It hardly mattered as Liverpool – who beat both Manchester United and Manchester City on their tour of America and thumped Napoli 5-0 in Dublin – put two past Torino in quick succession midway through the first half.
Salah fed his strike buddy Roberto Firmino after 21 minutes and the Brazilian turned sharply before firing past Salvatore Sirigu with the aid of a slight deflection.
Two minutes later, Firmino turned provider for Gino Wijnaldum and the Dutch midfielder broke to steer a finish past Sirigu from 12 yards.
This was Liverpool’s first pre-season friendly at Anfield in 2014 giving children and families a rare glimpse to see their heroes at reduced prices.
They enjoyed the opening half-an-hour as Liverpool showed why they are considered Manchester City’s main rivals for the league title this campaign.

The one concern for Klopp is in the middle of his defence with Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan injured, Dejan Lovren only just back in training after the World Cup and Joe Gomez absent on Tuesday night because of a minor knock.
It left little-known 21-year-old Nathaniel Phillips as Virgil van Dijk’s partner and though the youngster acquitted himself well, there were gaps as Andrea Belotti – linked with a £40million move to Champions League Napoli in this window – headed home to make it 2-1 after half-an-hour.
Liverpool almost added a third before the interval when Trent Alexander-Arnold’s goalbound shot was blocked by Alejandro Berenguer.
Klopp rang the changes at half-time with Adam Lallana, Daniel Sturridge, Shaqiri, Danny Ings, Marko Grujic, Andy Robertson and youngster Curtis Jones introduced, with Fabinho switching into the back-four until he himself was replaced by Jordan Henderson after 70 minutes – Marko Grujic moving back to partner Phillips.
Torino finished ninth in Serie A last season but they still found Liverpool’s shadow team hard to handle. Sturridge had a snapshot parried by Sirigu and Ings saw his effort cleared off the line, shooting as he fell.

Goalkeeper Alisson was a spectator for much of the evening but he received applause from The Kop every time he was called into action including a safe pair of hands to deny Simone Edera.
He was cheered when he became the tenth Liverpool player to be removed after 72 minutes while his replacement Karius – whose two howlers in May’s Champions League final saw him receive hostile abuse on social media – will have felt better by getting encouraging support as he trotted on.
Sturridge completed the scoring late on with a glancing header from Shaqiri’s cross.
Klopp will be heartened by seeing his side lose only one of their warm-up games, against Borussia Dortmund, as he seeks a fast start to their Premier League campaign.
Though Liverpool are unlikely to sign anyone before Thursday’s deadline, Danny Ings, Divock Origi, Simon Mignolet and Marko Grujic could be allowed out.
