Liverpool fans are ‘buzzing’ over the potential signing of Luis Diaz

Liverpool fans have taken to social media to express their delight at the potential signing of Porto and Colombia winger Luis Diaz. 

Jurgen Klopp’s side are reportedly closing in on a deal worth £37.5million with £12.5m in add-ons after hijacking Tottenham’s move for the 25-year-old.   

Liverpool fans believe Diaz’s arrival at Anfield will be ‘lethal’ and insist his addition. to the squad will blow open the title race.

One fan compared the signing of Diaz to the signing of Luis Suarez. He took to Twitter to say: ‘The last time we signed a Luis at the end of Jan it turned out be a pretty good deal’. 

Another said Liverpool would become ‘lethal’ if they landed Diaz’s signature. They wrote: ‘Diaz Jota Salah.. One word lethal’.

One supporter said he would be buzzing with the new signing, Tweeting: ‘If we have signed Luis Diaz oh my god I will be one buzzing chap’.

While one fan said Liverpool could be in with a shout of winning the title if they signed Diaz. He took to Twitter to say: ‘If Luis Diaz does sign for Liverpool the title race is truly on. Time for Villa to beat City on the last day to gift Liverpool the title’. 

Meanwhile, Tottenham fans took to social media to express their disappointment in their club’s inability to tie down Diaz. 

One Twitter user wrote: ‘The only real purpose that #THFC under Daniel Levy serves: to alert bigger clubs to top players that are available. 

‘Sadio Mane Anthony Martial Bruno Fernandes Ruben Dias Luis Diaz All moved onto United, City, or Liverpool after Spurs dithered around with lowball bids. Disgrace.’

Another added: ‘We are losing out on Diaz and our second choice is signing for Barca, what a complete fuck up. Players like Nathan Redmond are our level now.’

While one fan wrote: ‘Can’t believe we fumbled Adama AND Diaz…’. 

 It comes as no surprise the Tottenham fans are feeling frustrated. The North London club believed they had an agreement with Porto for the 25-year-old ahead of Monday’s deadline

However, Diaz’s preference was to sign for Liverpool and he held out for the move in order to play Champions League football. 

Diaz will bolster the attacking options available to Klopp as Liverpool pursue Manchester City at the top of the Premier League and try to win the Champions League and the domestic cups.
