Buvac, who has been dubbed Jurgen Klopp’s ‘brain’, walked away from Anfield on Monday for what has been described by Liverpool as ‘personal reasons’.

Bosnian outlet Pravda BL suggests Buvac ‘has arranged everything with Arsenal’ to fill the void left by Wenger when the Frenchman’s 22-year reign comes to an end this summer.

The 56-year-old, who is from Bosnia, is now keen to become a manager or take up a senior role within Arsenal’s new coaching hierarchy.

The timing of his absence comes as a shock to the club and fans as they gear up for their last-four encounter with Roma, who they beat 5-2 in the first leg at Anfield.
