Liverpool arrived back in England on Sunday morning as their preparations for the Champions League final get set to step up a gear.

Jurgen Klopp’s side had been in the south of Spain for a week-long warm-weather training camp as they gear up to face Real Madrid in Kiev on Saturday.

The Reds had been in Marbella but have now returned to Liverpool as they look to fine-tune their buildup ahead of flying out to Ukraine later in the week.

And Klopp insists that he will not be asking his players to change their approach ahead of facing the double European champions.

‘If I was to ask the boys, “What do you want to do in this game?” they would say, “What we always did”. I am pretty sure that would be the answer,’ Klopp told the club website.

‘In football you always have to try to create a plan to deny the qualities of an opponent, but you also have to bring through your own qualities.

‘If we would only think about trying to deny their qualities, that would be quite difficult.

‘It’s not that we go there, run like crazy and have no clue how to defend, it won’t be like that. But we will play our football and hopefully at the highest level.’

Liverpool have soared into the final after a run of dominant attacking displays in the latter stages of the competition.

Klopp’s side smashed Porto 5-0 in the last 16, beat Manchester City 5-1 over two legs in the quarter-finals and turned over Roma in the semi-finals.

‘There have been three dominant clubs in the last few years – Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern,’ said the German, who took Borussia Dortmund to the 2013 final.

‘We face one of them in the final so who should be the favourite? I have no problem with the situation. It’s not that I want to be the underdog, I don’t feel like an underdog.
