The hitmaker hasn’t released a new record since she dropped Special in July 2022, which featured the singles About Damn Time, 2 Be Loved (Am I Ready) and Special.

Critics described the overall sound as a mixture of pop, funk, disco, R&B and hip-hop.

The Special album peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 chart, which at the time of its release was the highest-charting album by a female artist in 2022, as well as the largest week by units earned, among all albums released by women during that same year.

Special reached the top ten on the number of countries, including the UK, Australian, Canadian, Hungary, and New Zealand album charts.
