Lorde reveals dates have to deal with songs about them

It’s been widely assumed that singer-songwriter Taylor Swift puts pen to paper, following a break-up.

And in a sneak peek for her upcoming 60 Minutes interview on Sunday, it appears Lorde, has taken a key out of her friend’s book.

Speaking to Allison Langdon, the 20-year-old revealed: ‘I’m a bit of a package deal with the fact that I’ll probably write about you,’ while joking dates will have to ‘deal with it.’

‘I’m a bit of a package deal with the fact that I’ll probably write about you,’ Lorde, real name Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor said.

‘My approach is like, ‘Well deal with it,’ Lorde continued to say of her dates, with a laugh.

The interview on the Channel Nine program also delved into the star’s level of fame, since debuting at just 16 years, with the hit Royals.

‘I still don’t know how I escaped fairly unscathed from the whole thing,’ Lorde reflected, with regards to her instant stardom.

‘It’s a hectic amount of attention, especially for a young person whose still figuring out what it means to be in the world,’ she candidly added.

Lorde found international fame at just 16 years, with the debut of hit Royals, reaching number one in the US and UK.
