lorraine Kelly: Game Of Thrones stars Kit Harrington and Rose Leslie get their Wilding wedding

Rose Leslie and Kit Harington fell for each other playing lovers in the TV fantasy drama Game of Thrones – and yesterday their own dreams came true when they married in a traditional church wedding.

The couple – who played the wildling Ygritte and Jon Snow in the hit HBO series – were showered with confetti by co-stars after the ceremony at the historic Rayne Church, close to her family’s sprawling country estate and castle in Aberdeenshire.

Earlier, Game of Thrones fans gathered outside the church had yelled and cheered when familiar faces from the fictional houses of Stark, Targaryen and Lannister arrived.

Sophie Turner, who plays Harington’s on-screen half-sister, Sansa Stark, looked striking in a short red dress and knee-high black boots. Maisie Williams, who plays her sister, wore a black bodycon dress and red heels.

Emilia Clarke, who plays one of the show’s main characters, Daenerys Targaryen, Mother of Dragons, opted for a baby pink coat and pink dress.

Peter Dinklage, one of the hit show’s best-loved characters, who plays Tyrion Lannister, also attended.

The bride, whose full name is Rose Eleanor Arbuthnot-Leslie, is a descendant of Charles II and her family owns the 12th Century Wardhill Castle in Aberdeenshire, where the reception took place.

Leslie, 31, a former handmaid in Downton Abbey, is now starring in the US legal drama The Good Fight.

The bride and her 31-year-old London-born husband, who met in 2012, were beaming as they left the church, walking hand-in-hand under three hand-crafted wooden arches draped in vines, and hugged their friends and family.

They were driven to Wardhill Castle in a Land Rover Defender draped in a white, silk ribbon, with ‘just married’ painted on the front.

The evening entertainment was by rock band Mumford & Sons, whose lead singer, Marcus Mumford, was a guest at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.
