Lorraine’s surprise came as she joined resident fashion guru Mark Heyes, who was showing different Mother’s Day gifts viewers could still buy ahead of the big day.

But as they shared an array of gifts, Mark then told Lorraine he had a special Mother’s Day message for her, joking he tried to recruit her peg dog Angus for the clip, but to no avail.

The video then showed Rosie in front of a stunning Singapore city backdrop, and she said to her mum: ‘Happy Mother’s Day all the way from Singpore, I’ll see you really soon and we can celebrate properly I love you bye!’

Lorraine struggled to hold back tears as she struggled to hide her shock at the clip, saying: ‘I love you more that’s so sweet you’re gonna get me crying again! She looks so beautiful, I miss her so much.’

The sweet gesture comes after Lorraine spoke candidly about her relationship with Rosie, after she moved to Singapore to work in public relations.

She told Weekend Magazine: ‘We talk about everything under the sun. I’m her mum, though, I’d never say I was her best friend because she’s got her friends already.

‘I’d love to think she tells me everything but she doesn’t.’

The star also said that despite the long distance between them, she and Rosie are in touch all the time.

After Rosie flew the nest, Lorraine also revealed last year that she and husband Steve Smith downsized, moving out of their seven-bedroom property in Dundee to a Buckinghamshire boat house.
