Louis Tomlinson cut a casual figure as he performed at SiriusXM Hits 1 at the SiriusXM Studios in New York City on Friday.

The singer, 30, wore a patterned Ahluwalia top shaded in turquoise, blue and green hues as he performed some of his hits, with his new single Bigger Than Me from his 2022 album Faith in the Future soon set for release.

Former One Direction star Louis put on a passionate performance as he sung in the Big Apple, completing his look with a pair of black jeans and white trainers.

Louis, whose album Faith in the Future is set for release in November, is ramping up promotion of his music again off the back of his 2020 world tour.

The former X Factor contestant completed the tour this year after the European dates were delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It comes after Louis said he thinks it ‘would be a shame’ if he and his fellow 1D bandmates never reunite.

The hitmaker was one-fifth of the group who first found fame on The X Factor in 2010 and went on to become one of the most successful boybands ever.

Speaking on Lorraine on ITV this month, Louis discussed the prospect of the reunion and also looked back on the group’s rise to fame.

Asked about getting back together, he said: ‘One day, there’s a lot of moving parts but it would be a shame if we didn’t. I hope so.’

One Direction was made up of Louis, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne.

Zayn left the group in early 2015 with the remaining four releasing another album – Made In The A.M. – before they went their separate ways.

Speaking about the group’s success, Louis said: ‘It’s easier to see now from the outside looking in, it was a crazy time but amazing to go through with other people. It would have been scary to go through it alone at that age.’

Louis also spoke about recording his new album and how it’s different to his debut album. He revealed: ‘It was a bit of a process on my first record – there was an element of trial and error.

‘Obviously coming out of a band the size of One Direction, it takes time to find yourself, musically, but I really think I’ve found it on this album and this single.’

Lorraine said it’s an optimistic record and Louis replied: ‘That was a conscious decision. On my first record, there was a weight to it emotionally which I think was right for the time but I just wanted to break loose from that now and be optimistic.’

Lorraine added: ‘That’s where you are in yourself,’ and Louis replied, ‘Exactly.’
