The show must go on: Louis Tomlinson, 30, took to the stage with his arm in a sling as he performed at the OVO Arena Wembley in London on Friday after recently sustaining an injury

He said of his injury at a recent gig: ‘I had a race yesterday, which I won, but it was a running race and I’ve hurt myself.

‘I’ve got a little fracture on my elbow.’

But the former X Factor star’s injury did not put a stop to him putting on an energetic performance in the UK capital on Friday.

The performer whipped his fans into a frenzy as he sung with his band, wearing his football shirt which he teamed with a pair of dark trousers.

His world tour kicked off in America back in February in support of his debut album Walls.

Due to the pandemic, his 2020 tour dates had to be pushed back, first to 2021, and then again to this year.

Louis is touring to support his debut LP Walls, which was released shortly before the coronavirus pandemic overwhelmed the globe on January 31, 2020.

The album debuted in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, though it earned mostly middling reviews from critics.

Walls is made up of 12 tracks, including fan favourites Always You, Defenceless and Only The Brave.

The singer soared to fame as one fifth of One Direction – made up of Niall Horan, 28, Liam Payne, 28, Zayn Malik, 29, and Harry Styles, 28, on The X Factor in 2010 – the band has been on a hiatus since 2016 as they all launched solo careers after Zayn quit.
