Louise Alroy, from the Gold Coast, tipped the scales at a staggering 132kg after she lived off an unhealthy diet of convenient foods, takeaways and chocolate.

At her heaviest, she wore size 22 clothing – and she struggled with everyday tasks.

But determined to get on top of her weight once and for all, the now 27-year-old made a drastic lifestyle overhaul that saw her lose 66kg within 18 months.

Appearing on The Morning Show, the young woman – who now looks unrecognisable after she slimmed down a size eight to 10 – revealed the secret to her weight loss.

‘It just got to a point where ignorance was bliss – and I didn’t even want to know what I weighed so that’s how I kind of stumbled,’ she said.

‘I’ve always been a little big bigger but I just got to a point where everything else came before my health. So work came first and other parts of my life came first.

‘I knew I had to do something. Being that heavy, everyday tasks were hard so I started going to the gym, and I did cardio just to start off with. But I was so scared of falling off the bandwagon.’

Her weight started to take an emotional toll on her life.

‘When I was heavy, I saw life in a very negative standpoint,’ she said as she revealed she had struggled with her weight since her childhood.

‘As scary as it sounds, I was eating my way to an early grave.’

And so she turned to a personal trainer who helped her ‘change my life’.

From there, she embarked on an incredible weight loss journey where she did gruelling workouts, including squats and heavy lifting.

‘My biggest thing was weight training, which is why I’m so thankful that I got myself a personal trainer, I met with him a few times a week,’ she said.

‘He kept me on track and ensure that I was doing it a healthy way and at a good pace as well.’

She tweaked her diet by throwing away all the junk and processed foods from her home, and started cooking all her fresh meals from scratch

She tweaked her diet by throwing away all the junk and processed foods from her home, and started cooking all her fresh meals from scratch.

And after 18 months, Louise shed seven dress sizes.

‘Now I leap out of bed to go to work and everything’s in a positive mindset whereas before it was quite negative,’ she said.

‘For the first time in my life, I’ve been this small and I actually managed to keep it off as well.’

By sharing her story, she wants other people to draw hope from her experiences.

‘I know how daunting weight loss can be, especially when you have a lot to lose so I hope I can inspire and help prove it’s not too late to chase those big goals,’ she said.
