Louise Linton insists she isn’t Steve Mnuchin’s nurse as she replies to Instagram critics

As both an actress and the wife of a member of Donald Trump’s administration, Louise Linton is no stranger to harsh criticism.

But this week Linton, 38, decided not to let her haters have the last word as she cheerfully replied to their comments on an Instagram photo of her and Secretary of the Treasury Steve Mnuchin.

The picture shows Linton and Mnuchin, 56, happily posing together before attending a dinner at Buckingham Palace during Trump’s state visit to the UK this week.

One user jokingly asked Linton if she was her husband’s nurse.

Linton repeatedly took to the comments of her Instagram to defend her relationship with Mnuchin, who is 18 years her senior

‘He’s in his 50’s,’ Linton replied. ‘Most 50-somethings are in excellent health! It’s all about eating right and getting exercise. He loves to bike outdoors. 30 miles every weekend!’

When another user merely commented with the puking face emoji, Linton suggested they try Pepto-Bismol to ‘help with nausea’.

‘Feel better, friend!’ she added, ending with the kissing face emoji.

Another commenter joked that Linton ‘must keep her fists and eyes clinch (sic) every night when they get into bed…and probably a great actress at that moment’.

‘We’ve had six wonderful years together!’ replied Linton, who wed Mnuchin in 2017. ‘He’s handsome and charming.’

‘If you’re interested in my acting make sure you catch my upcoming movie #meyoumadness,’ she added, once again using the kissing face emoji.

When one woman claimed Linton loved ‘old sugar daddies’, she defended her relationship with Mnuchin yet again.

‘Hey Anna! I love my husband,’ she replied. ‘Don’t need a sugar daddy as I make my own money! But thank you for the comment. Hope you have a blessed and beautiful day.’

Other commenters took issue with Linton being on the state trip, with one critic writing: ‘I’d like to be reimbursed for your vacation. No talent grifter.’

‘I paid for my London trip so chill, friend! Nothing out of your pocket!’ she replied.

‘Ah, a touristic trip on the taxpayers’ dime. Who doesn’t love that?’ another commenter wrote.

‘Chillax!’ she wrote back. ‘Paid my own trip on British Airways so didn’t cost taxpayers a cent! All good!’

The photo raised eyebrows as Linton made sure to tag every single designer label she was wearing, including Hermes, Tom Ford, and Valentino.

Linton then came under fire after she made fun of a Portland mother-of-three who criticized her in the comments, calling her ‘adorably out of touch’ and sarcastically writing that her life ‘looks cute’.

The Scottish actress has since hired a Washington ‘protocol expert’ to help prevent future scandals, and she has clearly stuck to only positivity in her Instagram replies.

She also heaped praise on the royals, writing that Kate Middleton looked 'absolutely beautiful' after one critic claimed Prince William's wife had been 'all smiles' because Meghan Markle 'was not there to overshadow her'

She also praised Queen Elizabeth II, writing that no one could 'outshine' her

When one commenter claimed that Linton hadn’t been wanted at the event, she quipped: ‘Perhaps my invitation from the Palace was mailed to me by accident’.

And when another critic wrote that the photo was ‘PLUTOCRAT GOALS AF’, Linton turned the focus to her philanthropy.

‘This “plutocrat” loves animals and campaigns and fundraises for elephants, rhinos, dogs, cats, goats, and everything else in between,’ she wrote.

And when another commenter asked if the Scottish actress had outshined Queen Elizabeth II, Linton replied: ‘No one can outshine the Queen. She’s incredible!’

‘I remember being a little girl on holiday to London with my family and looking through the big gates at the palace,’ she wrote. ‘I never imagined I would see inside it! It’s very beautiful.’

Linton actually got the chance to meet Middleton this week, years after playing the role of her close friend in a 2011 Lifetime movie about Middleton’s romance with Prince William.

Middleton escorted Mnuchin into the State Banquet at Buckingham Palace on Monday night.

As the pair were walking down the line to greet guests, Linton said hello to her husband and Middleton stopped to give her hand a quick shake. She was the only guest that Middleton greeted before sitting down for dinner.

Linton played the fictional character Vanessa Rose Williams in the film William & Kate.

At the time the movie came out, shortly before Prince William and Middleton’s wedding, Linton said her character wasn’t impressed by the royals.

‘She’s not the type of girl to be overwhelmed because of somebody’s wealth, prestige, or standing in life,’ she told Zap2It.

‘She’s much more involved in the more grounded and more authentic things. So while she’s very happy that Kate’s happy, she also becomes very upset when Kate’s upset and encourages Kate to walk away.’

But Linton has clearly been having a blast in England, praising the ‘beautiful’ white-tie dinner at Buckingham Palace on Monday night.

Linton wore a stunning deep red gown for the event that featured a cut-out key hole detail, accentuating her waist.

The actress swept her hair up into a chiffon, and completed her look with a sultry,  smokey eye for the event.

‘Wonderful to be home in Britain!’ she wrote in the caption. ‘An honor to attend the State Dinner at Buckingham Palace. It was a beautiful evening.’

Louise, who has had minor roles in CSI: NY and Cold Case, joined the Trump family and royals including Middleton and Prince William, as well as Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, and Princess Anne.

It was a lavish affair as 170 guests dined on steamed halibut, watercress mousse, Windsor lamb, strawberry sable, and sipped on the $2,540-a-bottle Chateau Lafite.

In contrast, the dinner Trump and Melania hosted on Tuesday featured beef, potatoes, ice cream, and $38 red wine from California.
