Louise Redknapp reflects on her unhealthy relationship with food

‘We’d share a buttered roll for lunch’: Louise Redknapp reflects on her unhealthy relationship with food as she says ‘getting boobs’ was a ‘death knell’ during her stage school days

Louise Redknapp looked back on her unhealthy relationship with food as she said ‘getting boobs’ was a ‘death knell’ during her stage school days.

The actress shared she ‘virtually stopped eating’ at the age of 14 to ‘lose weight’ which she said led people to believe she was ‘anorexic’ when she wasn’t.

Detailing what she would eat, the singer, 44, admitted she and her dance school friends would only share a ‘buttered roll’ for lunch at the time.

‘In effect, I virtually stopped eating because I didn’t know how else to lose weight. Sometimes I’d go days without food… people thought I was on the verge of anorexia, but I wasn’t. I was lucky I snapped out of it,’ she told Woman magazine.

‘For years, we’d share a buttered roll for lunch every day. That’s all we’d have.’

The 9 To 5: The Musical star branded puberty a ‘death knell’ for young dancers as she recalled what it was like at school when she started ‘getting boobs and a bum’.

Singer and actress Louise has been starring in the leading lady role in West End show 9 To 5: The Musical.

In recent weeks, Louise’s ex-husband Jamie Redknapp has reportedly split from Louise-lookalike Lizzie Bowden amid claims he wants to focus on his family before settling down again.

The retired professional footballer, who divorced Louise on 2017, was said to have been dating Lizzie since April this year.

A source close to Jamie told The Sun: ‘Jamie enjoys Lizzie’s company, but feels they are too different to pursue anything long-term’

‘His priority is his two sons and career, and he wants to hold out on finding the right woman to settle down with.’

Focusing on his family and work, Jamie is allegedly going to take a break from finding love and doesn’t want to rush to settle down again.

The source added: ‘He has a strong group of mates and a healthy social life so he is enjoying spending time with them.’
