Love Island 2021 star Liberty Poole says she would have sex on TV with the right person

Liberty Poole says she would have sex on TV providing it’s with the right person – after being cheated by an ex-boyfriend.

The Love Island contestant, 21, from Birmingham, told MailOnline she is prepared to go all the way ‘if it’s the natural next step in the relationship’ and her parents ‘expect stuff like that on the show.’

Speaking from Mallorca ahead of the launch of the ITV2 series on Monday, the Nando’s waitress admitted she has a tendency to fall for ‘players’ but she’s on the hunt for a ‘good guy’ in the villa this summer.

‘I wouldn’t completely rule it out’: Nando’s waitress Liberty Poole intends to spice up the Love Island villa by having sex on TV this summer

Liberty said: ‘Initially my answer to that question is no I’m not looking to have sex on TV. However, if I meet someone and it’s the natural next step in the relationship, I wouldn’t completely rule it out.

‘My mum is actually like my best friend and they know what my personality is like and that I’m a bubbly character and it is Love Island, so obviously they know to expect stuff like that on the show.

‘My mum and stepdad have been so supportive of me going on – I actually think my mum was more excited than me. She can’t wait to see me on the show, she’s a big personality herself, she’s excited to see me and I have a lot of support at home.’

The marketing student revealed she’s only had one serious relationship prior to signing up for the show – and it ended badly, after her former partner betrayed her.

She explained: ‘I’ve only ever had one serious relationship before this. I did get cheated on.

‘It has made me stronger and if anything, now it’s made me more ready for Love Island and to find true love and enjoy the experience.

‘If I’m being completely honest, I do like the players; it’s just something about them that keeps me on my toes – but I am obviously trying to find love and I’ll try and go for the good guy this time.

‘The usual guy I’m attracted to is very much Jack the Lad, charismatic, outgoing, a big personality, I do have a type looks wise, but I don’t really stick to it, it’s personality that gets me.’

Liberty claimed aside from a root-touchup she hasn’t done a lot of preparation ahead of starring on Love Island.

The Islander, who was approached by ITV producers to signup, insisted she hasn’t had any cosmetic procedures because she’s ‘happy’ with her appearance.

She said: ‘I got my roots done because due to lockdown my roots were obviously like 3 inches, so I was starting to go brunette, not blonde, so I got my roots done.

‘I’ve been working out a bit but nothing extreme. I’ve got loads of clothes to take in with me, I’m just your normal girl so I’m fully prepared, I was going through the airport with two massive 23kg suitcases, I’m fully prepared clothes, shoes and bikini wise.

‘I’m confident with the way I look anyway. It is really important for the girls in this day and age to be happy with the way they are and not feel the need to change themselves in any way.

‘I know that is hard sometimes with social media, Instagram, the need to feel perfect – I’m not against plastic surgery, if it’s going to make you feel more confident then I’m all for it but personally I’m confident and happy with the way I look.’

Liberty has no idea what it’s like to be famous, but says she’s aware of the potential downsides of being a reality star.

She said: ‘I have no claims to fame, I’m just a marketing student, and a waitress at Nando’s, I’m not an influencer or a model or anything, I’m just your girl next door I’d say.

‘I do know there is a side that comes with it so my thought is process is I’ll just deal with it as it comes because you don’t know how long you’ll be in there for or how long the show is going to play out. I don’t think that’s something that’s guaranteed but what is guaranteed is the experience of a lifetime.

‘It’s a crazy thought; you can’t predict how you’re going to feel until you’re in that moment however for me now I am just mainly focusing on the experience, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity, getting on the show, finding love, finding friends, and I think that’s something I’ll think about afterwards.

‘Obviously, we are prepared for it – we have a lot of sessions saying this is the aftermath, make sure you guys are prepared, so we have full support with that before and after the show.’

  • Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 28th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox
