A Love Island pair have faced a shock elimination, just days before the series finale.

According to reports, the pair, who were coupled up on Friday, have ‘already packed  their belongings’ and left the Mallorca villa, meaning they will not have the opportunity to compete for the grand cash prize on the ITV2 reality show.

A source told The Sun: ‘The recoupling comes as a huge shock to everyone. It’s been a really rocky few days and tension is really high.

‘It’s nearly time for the final so this last recoupling really counts. It’s a nail biting watch.’

MailOnline has reached out to Love Island representatives for a comment.

The couples departure comes after an intense Grafties Awards ceremony took place, which has yet to be shown.

In the annual contest, viewers voted for their favourite Islanders in categories such as Unfinished Business, It’s Giving One Sided, and Epic Fail.

Fans were able to pick one out of three Islanders for each category, however, there is already talk of viewers filing complaints with Ofcom, alleging ‘borderline bullying.’

The allegations come after Mimii Ngulube, 24, received multiple nominations for some of her actions, with clips highlighting her actions.

One such clip included the secret terrace chat she tried to have with her former partner, Ayo Odukoya, also 24.

Conversely, Ayo – who at one point was involved in a love triangle with her –  appeared to have avoided any nominations.

Taking to X fans pointed out how unfair that came across:

‘Where are all these clips of Ayo for the grafties nominations you guys clearly have an agenda with Mimi because up until now you’ve barley shown the girl! Let’s not play this game! #loveIsland’.
