Love Island: Dr Alex leaves the boys (and viewers) HORRIFIED as he explains a c-section

He’s the villa’s resident A&E doctor.

And while Dr Alex’s medical qualifications came in handy on Wednesday night’s episode of Love Island for checking if the plastic dolls in the baby challenge were ‘healthy’, it also left his fellow contestants horrified.

When asked whether or not he had delivered any babies by Jack, Dr Alex proceeded to explain how he had indeed performed deliveries, both via c-section and ‘vaginally’.

Too much information? While Dr Alex’s medical qualifications came in handy on Wednesday night’s episode of Love Island for checking if the plastic dolls were ‘healthy’, it also left his fellow contestants horrified

This then fed into a conversation that saw Dr Alex graphically explain how one delivers a child via c-section, leaving the men wishing they’d never asked in the first place.

‘You make a cut along the lower line of the tummy, the bikini line. Then when you get to the uterus you make a cut along the uterus. You do unfortunately have to tear that.

‘The two surgeons pull apart until you open that. It’s fairly strong. You properly pull.

‘And then you get to the sack which the baby sits in. And that’s when you’re like, “right is everyone ready”. And as soon as you pop that then you stimulate the baby.

‘You literally then pull that sack, and you suction the fluid that comes out, there’s usually a bit of blood there as well. And then hopefully the head is in a nice position. Then hand in, scoop the baby out, give it to the midwife.

‘The big thing is it bleeds like hell. You can lose litres of blood. There’s a lot of blood at this point.’

‘Alex has had his hands in people. It’s so weird,’ Jack said in the Beach Hut after the descriptive tutorial.

Despite clearly being fascinated by Dr Alex’s description, the boys were clearly slightly jarred by it. As were viewers at home who weren’t prepared for such scenes.

‘Alex doing his bit for making none of us watching EVER want a C-section,’ one person tweeted.

Another posted: ‘Nothing like a detailed description of a c-section at 9.35pm on a Thursday night!’

A third typed ‘And this is why I’m scared of child birth’ followed by a fourth who penned ‘Dr. Alex has just confirmed I’m never having children!’

'Bleeds like (oh) hell!' 'The big thing is it bleeds like hell. You can lose litres of blood. There's a lot of blood at this point,' he went on

Someone else laughed: ‘The boys faces as Alex talks through a C-section!’

Another wrote: ‘I want kids but f**king hell Alex’s explanation of a c section has s**t me up!’

‘OMG remind never to get a C section!’ came an appalled viewer’s tweet.

‘Ok, that description of a c-section was actually shocking. Lord have mercy, mothers are heroes,’ raved another.

Another typed: ‘Looooool Alex telling the lads all about a Caesarian. Only black jack seems ready. The others look like they’re never going to have sex again!’

Some viewers praised Dr Alex however, for the informative chat: 'More educated by Dr Alex explaining how to do a cesarean section than I was from 12 years of school'

Another typed: ‘THANKS ALEX I’M LEARNING SOMETHING!’

Perhaps not all were as grateful for the information overload: ‘I never knew all these details about a C-Section and now I never want kids. Women are superheroes!’

Earlier in the episode Dr Alex had been busy health checking the other ‘children’, examining their fingers, toes, pulse and heart rate. However he failed to notice that new Jack and new Laura’s son Aubrey was in fact a girl.
