Love Island viewers have accused Ron Hall of gaslighting Lana Jenkins after she picked Casey O’Gorman over him in last week’s recoupling.
A love triangle has been formed after Lana shocked the villa by choosing to pursue her new connection with Casey on Sunday’s episode, after being fed up with Ron’s head being turned by more recent arrivals to the villa.
Monday night featured the fall-out from the recoupling with Lana and Ron sitting down for a chat during which he criticsied her decision, telling her ‘you f**ked up.’
‘He’s a good lad but for me, I know I’m better. I know me and you would be better,’ he added during the conversation.
Viewers accused Ron of ‘gaslighting’ Lana with his comments, with one tweeting: ‘I’m so sorry but I just cannot deal with Ron on #loveisland I cannot. He doesn’t like Lana. He just doesn’t ‘like’ that he’s ‘lost’. Men that gaslight women.’

‘The way Ron is trying to gaslight Lana is making me sick,’ agreed another.
‘Ron is the gaslight king, Lana needs to be honest and Casey deserves better,’ decided another.
Another questioned: ‘Did Ron just try and Gaslight Lana there with his “how dare you choose him over me, thought we had something here.’
Some fans even threatened to call Ofcom and complain with one viewer writing: ‘can the ofcom babes start calling up because witnessing ron manipulating lana is not it.’
It appeared Lana was regretting her choice as she admitted to her fellow islanders that as she slept in bed with Casey she ‘wanted to be in bed with Ron’.
Speaking ton Ron later in the episode, Lana said: ‘Picking Casey wasn’t a deep thing it was more of, well we have a couple more days to get to know each other.
‘I was also thinking, can I not forgive because I never held anything against you. After I’ve had so many days upset about something, I don’t want to form a couple with you straight away and it all be OK.’
Ron replied: ‘I struggle to understand the reasons there. I feel like him being here four days.’

Lana then said: ‘What I’m saying is, did you deserve me to couple up with you?’
Ron said: ‘I don’t deserve that straight away but I feel like that recoupling was our chance to get things back and now it’s Casey’s chance to grow stronger and me to fade away. I’m not gonna lie, it did hurt.’
He added: ‘He’s a good lad but for me, I know I’m better. I know me and you would be better.’
Lana then insisted this didn’t mean she was closed off to Ron, saying: ‘I’m not married off. Maybe I should have deeped it a bit more.’
Ron said: ‘For me, I don’t regret getting to know people. I still want you. I do think you f****d up, obviously I’m biased but I do.’

A third wrote: ‘How does Lana have buyer’s remorse already, get a grip!’ while a fourth added: ‘Why did Lana choose Casey if she was just gonna sulk over Ron?’
Another said: ‘Casey is the real victim of this situation because we all know Lana didn’t actually pick him, she just didn’t pick Ron in an attempt to prove a point.’
Meanwhile, viewers also criticised Ron for choosing to talk to Casey before Lana after the tense recoupling.
In what viewers dubbed ‘reverse psychology’, Ron then went on to warn Casey ‘he had a good thing’ and to treat Lana well.

But taking to Twitter as the episode aired, viewers labelled Ron’s behaviour as ‘manipulative’ and questioned why he was ‘only being nice now’.
One fan wrote: ‘Ron is using reverse psychology and it’s giving MASSIVE red flags’.
Another said: ‘Why is ron talking to Casey like he’s Lana’s dad’.
‘Red flag that Ron’s talking to Casey before he chats to Lana… You’re not her dad lol’, another agreed.
‘What is this guy on?’ a fan questioned.
Another viewer described the conversation as a ‘hand over talk’ and also agreed it was ‘manipulative’.

Speaking to Ron, she said: ‘When I coupled up with Casey, I probably made a bit of a rash decision.’
Ron and Lana are then seen smiling at each other while some of the boys alert Casey to the conversation.
Seeing the pair looking intimate, Casey said: ‘Oh my God, I feel like a d***head’.
