Luca Bish was mocked by viewers who clocked his puzzled reaction after realising he hadn’t won Love Island 2022 during Monday’s finale episode.
The fishmonger, 23, couldn’t conceal his confusion when Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti, both 27, were crowned the winners, while his girlfriend Gemma Owen, 19, clapped politely as they accepted second place.
Sharing the screengrab to Twitter, fans of the show joked Luca, who has sparked a viewer backlash of late, would soon be asking for a recount, while questioning whether he ‘actually thought he would win’.
‘Did he actually think he would win?’ Luca Bish was mocked by viewers who clocked his puzzled reaction after realising he hadn’t won Love Island 2022 during Monday’s final
They wrote: ‘WHY THE F**K HE PULLING THAT FACE DID HE ACC THINK HE WOULD WIN,’ and, ‘Luca asking to talk to a manager about a recount.’
Others added: ‘Luca got humbled by Ekin-Su and Davide’s win. The satisfaction is real,’ and, Luca is going to sit us down and ask us why we didn’t vote them.’
‘Here we go again, are you serious why can’t Luca just be happy for Ekin and Davide for the rest of the show at least.’
More chimed in with: ‘IM FRAMING THIS AND HANGING IT IN THE LOUVRE,’ and, ‘Luca thinking he had the win in the pocket lmao.’

Deserving: The fishmonger, 23, couldn’t conceal his confusion when Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti, both 27, were crowned the winners
The awkward moment comes after Luca’s family once again defended him after viewers slammed him for his ‘overreaction’ towards discovering his fellow Islanders had voted for him to go in the public vote.
The Brighton native’s family said he had stayed ‘true to himself’ and that he had simply been ‘honest with his emotions’.
Luca had been criticised by a number of viewers for becoming enraged after learning that he and Gemma had been voted for as least compatible couple.
After being saved, he sat down at the firepit and muttered to Gemma: ‘Ooh I’m gonna have some fun tonight,’ suggesting he was about to kick off.
Later, Luca said: ‘The people I voted for I don’t give a f**k’, adding that he sounded ‘angry’ because: ‘F**king all I know is how good me and Gemma are, but then three of you voted for me.’

Questioning: In Sunday’s meet the parents episode, Luca asked his parents what they thought of his behaviour – amid a viewer backlash

Behaviour: On Sunday night’s episode, the fishmonger’s parents hinted how they were less than impressed with how he treated fellow islander Tasha last month
Viewers at home blasted Luca for his reaction, saying it was both over-the-top and hypocritical, after he had called out Tasha for being upset over being in the bottom and also voted for his fellow Islanders.
One said: ‘Luca so bitter that he was voted for when Davide doesn’t even care that everyone voted for them. It’s a game show. Not that deep.’
A second echoed: ‘luca is such a baby omg how is this a whole grown adult??? like hours after his mum said he needs to watch how he reacts to situations’.
Someone else argued: ‘Remember when Luca got angry at Tasha for being upset about being in the bottom 3 and said it shouldn’t matter because her and Andrew are together and that’s all that matters. And now look at his behaviour tonight. Complete and utter hypocrite.’

Supportive: The 23-year-old’s family said he had stayed ‘true to himself’ and that he had simply been ‘honest with his emotions’.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, his family took his side and screenshot a comment from a fan supporting Luca.
The comment said: ‘Can’t believe how many people lack basic skills. Luca was not upset about the votes, he was upset that no one had voiced any concerns about him and Gemma’s relationship before.
Fans were delighted as Ekin-Su and Davide clinched the title on Sunday.
In previous years, winners have picked an envelope which either has the prize money or nothing enclosed, with one person being given the £50,000 with the option to ‘split or steal’ the cash.
This year, host Laura Whitmore, 37, announced they would automatically be sharing the money as producers opted to scrap the tradition which has been in place since series one.
As the news was announced, emotional Ekin-Su jumped into her beau’s arms as they celebrated their win and speechless Davide exclaimed he ‘couldn’t believe it’.

A third said: ‘Congratulations Ekin-Su and Davide. The Turkish Delight and Italian Stallion have gone and won!’

Before enterting the villa, Ekin-Su had reportedly told a friend how she would be ‘tempted’ to steal the whole prize pot if her connection wasn’t genuine.
Asked what Ekin thought she would do if she won she is said to have written in a text: ‘It’s a game show at the end of the day, it’s business. If it’s not genuine I’d be tempted.
‘But I’m at the right age to find the right guy. I know what I’m looking for. I want to find The One.’
However judging by appearances, Ekin-Su certainly seems to have found the one as she gushed over her new boyfriend.
Ekin-Su said of making the final two on this year’s Love Island: ‘It feels so surreal finding the man of your dreams and just growing.’
Speaking about what she liked most about Davide, she added: ‘Apart from the perfect body, I would definitely say there was an instant spark and a genuine butterfly feeling.’
She also summed up their relationship as ‘absolutely bonkers’, while Davide said he ‘couldn’t believe it’.
Earlier in the programme, Indiyah Polack, 23, and Dami Hope, 26, were awarded third place on the dating programme ahead of Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page who finished narrowly behind them in fourth place
