He’s been desperately trying to click with a woman since entering the Love Island villa a month ago.

And while viewers had found Dr Alex’s love-shyness endearing at first, it seems that it’s wearing a little thin.

They flocked on to Twitter during Wednesday night’s episode to express that they couldn’t bear watching him any longer, as he seemed to kill yet another potential relationship with his lack of game.

Oh dear: While viewers had found Dr Alex’s love-shyness endearing at first, it seems that it’s wearing a little thin

During the episode, he was seen getting into bed with his partner, Grace, only to turn straight over and ignore her, without as much as a ‘nighty night’.

The following day he was seen sitting next to her at the pool and engage in what could only be described as cringe-inducing chat  – which opened with him saying ‘What’s Gwan?’

Firstly commenting on the weather – known universally as the most mundane of conversation topics – Dr Alex proceeded to tell Grace that he likes football but prefers rugby, then telling her who he supports.

Unable to muster up a smidgen of interest, Dr Alex attempted to move the chat on, asking her: ‘What’s your favourite hobby?’

Awks: Dr Alex then added that he likes to go away with his family and speaks to his mum and dad daily. In contrast, Grace informed him she's not close to her family in the slightest and that she rarely sees them

Grace explained that when she gets time off it’s all about ‘maintenance’ – tanning, nails, hair.

The hunky MD seemed fairly disinterested in this as he summarised her hobbies as ‘hobbies and brunching’ (which wasn’t what she had said at all).

Later in the episode, he was seen awkwardly informing her that he has ‘learnt new words Peng and Sort’ and then demonstrated for her how to ‘smoulder’.

Grace was then seen in the beach hut saying she’s flirted more with her clients.

‘Having Alex as your doctor would bore you to death long before that artery bled out,’ one person quipped.

A second person echoed: ‘Can we please get Alex out now please, I’m getting so tired of him.’

Remarking on Dr Alex giving Josh advice about his drama with Kaz and Georgia, another typed: ‘Alex giving advice to the lads when he can’t even have an interesting conversation with the lass he coupled up with looooool.’

‘We’ve had your back Alex but throw us a fricken bone here, we can only do so much,’ came another remark.

Someone else typed: ‘Arguably the most cringing thing I’ve seen in #LoveIsland Alex needs to leave sharpish.’

‘Alex has no sauce, no juice, no game NUTHIN. How did he even get on the show???’ another person posted.

‘No offence Alex but even I don’t speak to my mother everyday and I live with her,’ remarked another.

Someone else added: ‘I started off feeling sorry for Dr Alex… Now I want to slap him a bit. He’s a clever bloke! why is it so difficult for him to make semi interesting conversation and at least say goodnight to a gal before turning his back on her? It’s cringe worthy!’

Love Island continues nightly on ITV2.
