‘It’s very upsetting’: Love Island’s Amber Gill takes a social media break after feeling ‘overwhelmed’ by ‘ignorant and racist’ trolls
Amber Gill said she was feeling ‘overwhelmed and exhausted’ by the amount of vile messages she receives from trolls online.
The Love Island star, 23, said she was taking a social media break on Instagram on Tuesday after feeling upset by the ‘ignorance, bigotry and racism’ from trolls.
Sharing a example of a message she received, Amber told her followers: ‘Sometimes if you catch me being super quiet on here when I usually use my voice it’s because I get overwhelmed/ exhausted and need a break.

‘I can’t post one story without hundreds of messages like the ones I just posted.
‘And what I say or repost never warrants the amount of hateful messages I get in return and it’s how idiotic and pathetic the messages are that makes me feel like I’m just fighting a losing battle.
‘I love speaking up, but it’s the ignorance, bigotry and racism. They know exactly what they are doing… it’s gaslighting.

Cruel: The troll had sent one message saying: ‘Well, yes, Love Island does mean you have a low IQ’, as well as another telling Amber she’s ‘deluded’
‘Sometimes it gets too much as these people are not listening to understand they just want to fight. But this is the most important time to keep speaking as they want people like us to just put up and shut up.’
She added: ‘I’m not crying about the messages. I don’t expect my followers to agree with 100% of what I say. It’s just annoying to see how many have this crazy warped view! And it’s very upsetting.’

The Instagram user had also attacked the Love Island star for ‘always thinking you’re the victim of racism’ and to ‘leave the country if this country is so racist’.
It comes a day after Amber marked International Women’s Day by showing off her impressive one stone weight loss.
The Love Island star posed up a storm in a plunging nude brown lingerie set which showed off her physique to perfection.
Amber overhauled her fitness and diet routine after living off takeaways in the first lockdown.
She captioned the post: ‘Happy International Women’s Day. I just love us.’
