Love Island’s Gemma Owen excitedly shares New Year’s Eve party preparations at her family’s £4m Welsh mansion complete with a giant marquee and dance floor

Love Island star Gemma Owen has excitedly shared the New Year’s Eve party preparations that are ongoing at her family’s £4million Welsh mansion.

Gemma, 19, who’s the daughter of footballer Michael Owen, 43, updated her 2million Instagram followers with photos of a huge marquee that has been decorated with luxury white drapes and twinkling lights and includes a chequered dance floor for partygoers to get their groove on.

The newly-single dressage rider will be kissing goodbye to an eventful year after she rose to prominence on the summer series of Love Island, finishing in second place with ex-boyfriend Luca Bish.

Ready to party: Love Island star Gemma Owen has excitedly shared the New Year’s Eve party preparations that are ongoing at her family’s £4million Welsh mansion

Guests at the Owen family’s New Year’s Eve party will be welcomed onto their sprawling estate, which is located near the village of Northop in Flintshire, north Wales.

The soirée is set to be one to remember as the marquee hosting arrivals has also been dressed with high stalls and tables, sofas, and is carpeted for the upmost comfort.

PrettyLittleThing ambassador Gemma will no doubt assist her parents Michael and Louise with hosting duties on the night as the couple’s eldest child.

It’ll be a fun time for Gemma’s younger siblings, which include her brother James, 16, and sisters Emily, 14, and Jessica, 12, as the family all come together for the big event.

The bash will be one of few occasions that Gemma will let her hair down after previously admitting ‘I’ve never been one to go out and party.’

One guest who won’t be in attendance is Gemma’s Love Island ex, Brighton fishmonger Luca, following the couple’s split in November just three months after making their romance official.

MailOnline revealed that cracks in their relationship started to show during a couples’ holiday in Dubai and Gemma ended things once they had returned home.

Unlike many of her Love Island co-stars, Gemma resisted making her romance with Luca official until they had left the villa and experienced the outside world, with her also seeking the approval of both her parents first.

Gemma, who admits she grew up in ‘immense privilege’, has tried to encourage her new following to work hard, as she has done in launching her own swimwear brand OG Beachwear.

She told The Times in an interview earlier this year ‘I tell my female followers: earn your own money’ and says she also became PrettyLittleThing’s ambassador so she could appeal to a wider demographic.

‘I wanted to be relatable’, Gemma explained.

‘A positive role model. With PLT working towards being more sustainable and with its new Marketplace, I just thought it was a really good brand.’
