Mary Bedford has revealed that her mother is ‘looking after’ her as she recovers after she was involved in a horrific car crash that left her covered in ‘cuts and bruises’.

The former Love Island star, 23, took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday to thank her fans for their support, one day after she had detailed the terrifying ordeal.

She said her mother had travelled to Manchester to care for her after she revealed that she had been left ‘shaken up’ and ‘bruised’ following the car crash.

Alongside a snap of her TV, Mary penned: ‘Thank you everyone for all of your lovely messages since yesterday, I appreciate them. 

‘Mumsy has come to Manchester and is looking after me.’

It comes after Mary took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday to detail the terrifying ordeal for her 890,000 followers.

She said she was left ‘cut and bruised’ and admitted she felt ‘so grateful’ to have made it back home.

In a caption, she wrote: ‘Someone must have been looking down on me today… very shaken up, cut and bruised but so grateful to be back home tonight.’

The influencer has not yet revealed any further details about what happened. 

Last year, Mary revealed that she had splashed out on her ‘dream car’, which was reported to have cost her around £50,000.

Mary, who starred in Love Island’s 2021 series, entered the Casa Amor villa and coupled up with Toby, securing her place on the show.

She then coupled up with latecomer Aaron, who she seemed to have a strong connection with on the show, before friend zoning him on After Sun. 

Mary dated former Love Island favourite Chris, 28, shortly after his split from Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson, 30, in August 2020. 

Since leaving the ITV2 dating show, Mary launched her new LullaBellz by Mary Bedford product back in April.

The celebratory brunch was held at The Ivy, which was decked out with extravagant flower displays, small posters with Mary’s face on them and a menu of personalised cocktails, including a Mary Martini.

The launch was to celebrate the release of her collaboration with the hair extension company, the Feathered Bun Booster – which she wore to the brunch.
