Love Island’s Tayla reveals she was physically and mentally abused in past relationship

Love Island’s Tayla Damir has revealed she was physically and mentally abused in a past relationship.

Tayla told Confidential on Friday that one day he ‘lost it’ and became violent in public after she refused to give him her phone.

‘It got to the point where there were marks. There were a few times where it was behind closed doors but the wake up was when it happened in public,’ she said.

‘He cornered me and tried to take me down the side of a house. I yelled and people came and it went from there,’ the Lebanese radio host recalled.

‘I hope he has changed so no girl has to go through what I have done… you can blame it on the alcohol or whatever, but that is his own battle that he will have to face.’

Tayla admitted that she had a ‘lot of hate’ after the abusive relationship and developed ‘trust issues’ with other men as a result of the abuse.

She added that it made her a ‘stronger person’.

Tayla has been making waves since she entered the Love Island villa last week, getting caught up in an explosive love triangle with Grant Crapp and Cassidy McGill.

The bad boy, who has been compared to Married At First Sight villain Dean Wells, reduced Cassidy to tears several times due to his flirty behaviour with Tayla.

He admitted to the boys that he finds brunette beauty Tayla ‘hot’ and later told her he ‘wanted to kiss her’.

Tayla filled Cassidy in on what Grant had said to her, admitting that she told him she wanted to kiss him too.

When a devastated Cassidy confronted the tradie, he initially lied and said he never tried to proposition Tayla – before insisting she was the one who made the advances first.

After several fraught exchanges back and forth between the trio, Grant eventually confessed all to Cassidy.

Despite her fury, Grant managed to win her back and the pair tentatively agreed to put his shameless flirting behind them.
