LSU basketball star Angel Reese reveals exactly how she’s been spending her NIL millions

LSU women’s basketball star Angel Reese has revealed she has treated herself of late due to incoming NIL deals. 

Reese was part of the Lady Tigers team which destroyed Iowa to win the national title on April 2, but it was her taunting of Caitlin Clark and subsequent interviews which catapulted her to fame. 

The six-foot-three forward went from virtually unknown to a recognized figure in the sports, certainly sports social media, world. 

Speaking to Overtime, Reese revealed the saved the check from her first-ever NIL deal, saying ‘it wasn’t much.’

Since her fame catapulted, the quantity and size of partnerships has increased, allowing the 21-year-old to indulge a little.

‘I’ve done a lot of shopping lately,’ Reese said. ‘I bought a couple bags, designer bags… Luckily, I just did a deal and got a [Mercedes] Benz.’ 

Reese announced her partnership with Mercedes Benz Baton Rouge via Twitter on May 1, showing off her new vehicle as part of her 21st birthday celebrations. 

The Maryland native has made her name of being ‘unapologetically’ herself – and reiterated on the podcast, her reason for doing so goes beyond individuality. 

‘It’s cool, because I mean; one, you don’t really see black women doing a lot of deals, especially with a lot of these brands,’ she said. 

‘So, just to see me being able to be an example for a lot of young girls that look like me and just giving them a point just to know that they can do it.’

Per On3, Reese is the sixth-ranked college athlete, in terms of NIL, behind only Bronny James, Livvy Dune, Arch Manning, Caleb Williams and Bo Nix. 

Reese has an annual value of $1.6million and has deals with McDonald’s, Sports Illustrated, Outback Steakhouse, Coach and Wingstop.
