But it was the player’s latest Get the Gat video – and the mystery blonde woman dancing in it – that got fans talking on social media.

In the video players from the American football team - and the female, later identified as Gemi Bordelon, wife of former Tiger Ben Bordelon - dance to the New Orleans bounce song 'Get The Gat' by Lil Elt

Fans took to twitter speculating about the identity of the mystery woman, with one tweeting: ‘Who that lady is though’.

Ben Borderlon played for LSU in the 1990s and then went on to play offensive tackle for the San Diego Chargers in 1997.

The Bordelons joined the Tigers at the White House visit because they have close ties to members of the Louisiana congressional delegation, WBRZ reported.

The Get The Gat challenge has taken social media by storm.

The LSU first filmed the dance in their locker room in late December, and, most recently, at the White House party.

The craze is said to stem from entertainer Shawn Taylor, known on social media as ‘Subtweet Shawn’, who said his friends on the LSU football team asked him to help them create a dancing video.

So far the challenge has racked up millions of views and sparked people to post their own videos of the dance.

Taylor has defended the use of the song, with ‘gat’ meaning gun and players making ‘gunfingers’ when dancing.

He said: ‘I’m not promoting gun violence or anything. It’s just a dance. I want people to have fun. The team is unstoppable so what can you do to stop us? You have to get the gat.’

Trump, who attended the LSU’s victory on Monday with first lady Melania Trump, paid tribute to the team for being ‘unstoppable’.

‘Your football program has inspired countless fans across the country,’ Trump told the team.

The president told the players they were ‘gonna be so rich’.

‘Wide receiver Justin Jefferson had 14 receptions for 227 receiving yards and four touchdowns – a college football play-off record,’ he said.

‘He’s gonna be so rich – we’re looking at money.’

Trump added:  ‘You guys are gonna make so much money.’

Trump delivered his standard championship team fare until the very end of the event, when he talked up his own record.

The president talked about how both good and bad presidents used the historic desk.

‘You’ve got a good one now, even though they’re trying to impeach the son of a b***h,’ Trump said.

Players and members of the audience laughed, as Trump briefly listed some accomplishments, including the ‘greatest military’ that he had rebuilt.

‘We took out those terrorists like your football team would have taken out those terrorists,’ Trump also offered, a likely reference to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and Iranian general Qassem Soleimani.
