Luann de Lesseps avoids jail time from Christmas Eve arrest

She’s struggled with legal battles throughout the year.

But Luann de Lesseps is likely breathing a sigh of relief as a judge signed off on a plea deal stemming from her Christmas Eve arrest in Palm Beach, Florida. 

The Real Housewife of New York pleaded guilty to battery, trespassing and disorderly intoxication, and will avoid jail time in addition to felony charges, according to TMZ.

Part of the plea deal includes the former Countess to perform  50 hours of community service.

TMZ also reported that Luann will also have to attend two Alcoholics Anonymous meetings per week in New York. 

She must abstain from using drugs or alcohol, and will have to submit to ‘random testing during one year of probation’.

Luann discussed the alcohol-fueled incident that ended in her arrest and felony charges with The New York Times earlier this year.

‘Obviously it was a really bad night for me and something I am not proud of,’ she told the outlet, before slipping in some information about her new cabaret variety show titled #CountessandFriends.

‘I can’t avoid the whole story of what happened to me in Palm Beach,’ she said, adding ‘I’m trying to keep it light while also taking it seriously.’

Luann was charged with one felony count of resisting an officer with violence during the incident at the Colony Hotel, and also accrued two misdemeanors, including trespassing and disorderly intoxication.

The Chic C’est La Vie songstress recently told PEOPLE magazine that she is ‘in a really good place’ following her second stint in rehab earlier this month.

‘I don’t feel like drinking. I’m committed to my sobriety. I want it more than anything,’ she admitted.  

The reality star entered rehab on July 16 in a move that caused her to miss the filming of the reunion shoe for the 10th season of RHONY.
