Lucy Hale models a gown with a daring slit up her leg at the Fashion Trust Awards

Lucy Hale looked perfect in purple as she stepped out for the Fashion Trust U.S. Awards on a stormy Los Angeles night.

The Pretty Little Liars alum, 33, wore a long purple and pink gown with a floral pattern on it. The gown featured a scoop neck and thin straps over her shoulders.

The Hating Game actress showed off her toned leg via a high slit in the floor-length dress.

Fashion Trust U.S. is a non-profit that is dedicated to ‘discovering, funding, and nurturing young design talent with the aim of helping them build their label into a thriving global brand.’

It was launched back in January and encourages up-and-coming designer to apply to win ‘financial grants and mentorships covering budget, strategy, digital, merchandising, and general business support.’

Lucy has been keeping busy lately. She had three projects released in 2022 and has two more coming up soon.

The brunette beauty is starring in Mort in Sherman Oaks, an off-beat romance about a terminally ill man, played by Kier Gilchrist, who joins a dating service that matches potential partners based on their projected death dates.

Through the dating service, he meets Lucy’s Kate, and the two strike up an unlikely friendship.

The Memphis native is also starring in Which Brings Me To You.

Lucy plays a freelance journalist, who comes close to hooking up in the coat room with Nat Wolff’s photographer at the wedding of mutual friends, but both decide against a meaningless one-night stand.

Instead, they spend the next 24 hours sharing stories about themselves including their most embarrassing sexual encounters, first loves, heartbreak and whirlwind romances.

The romcom is based on the Steve Almond novel by the same name. The film completed production in October and co-stars Nat Wolff, 28.

Lucy celebrated one year of sobriety in January and marked the occasion with a heartfelt post on Valentine’s Day.

‘Bear with me, this is an alternative Valentine’s Day post,’ the actress wrote, alongside the photo of a cake with the words 1 Year! written in icing. ‘This is a post about self-love and about the greatest thing I’ve ever done.’

Hale explained, ‘On January 2, 2023, I celebrated one year of sobriety.’

She also spoke about her journey to sobriety on Steven Bartlett’s Diary of a CEO podcast, saying, ‘I have never talked publicly about being sober — I have a little over a year sobriety. I have been working on getting sober since I was 20; I’m 33. It took time. It took patience with myself.’

‘I just held on to that belief that real Lucy came out when she was drinking. It also quieted my mind… my mind just doesn’t shut off and it’s exhausting. I was a textbook binge drinker, blackout, wouldn’t remember what I did or what I said, which is scary.’

‘From my very first experience drinking at age 14 up until a year ago, I’ve had a problem. I’ve never had a period of my life where I was a normal moderate drinker. It was always, “Let’s go.”‘

‘I was willing to go to this crazy dark place every time. Of course, I tried to be a moderate drinker, just having two. I have an allergy to alcohol. I cannot drink. I view it as an allergy; my brain doesn’t work the same way as someone who can just have a glass of wine. It always wants more. It’s craving that feeling.’
