Luka Doncic set a Mavericks record on Friday night as he scored 73 points in a virtuoso performance, leading his team to a 148-143 win over the Hawks.
Doncic blew past his personal-best and team-record 60 points with the help of eight three-pointers and 15 made free throws.
He shot 75.8 percent from the field overall, becoming the first ever NBA player to score 70+ on better than 75 percent shooting.
‘It was beautiful,’ Doncic said.
His record night came only four days after Philadelphia´s Joel Embiid scored a franchise-record 70 points, and on the same night as a 62-point performance from Devin Booker in a Suns loss.
Karl Anthony-Towns also scored 62 earlier this week in a Minnesota loss.

Doncic got to the 70 mark with a three-point play with 2:58 remaining.
With Dallas leading 140-136, Doncic added another three-point play to cap his night.
Doncic joined Wilt Chamberlain, David Thompson and Kobe Bryant among players who had scored 73 points.
Chamberlain, who holds the NBA record with 100 points, also had a 78-point game, while Bryant had 81.
