Luke Bracey not upset over missing Fifty Shades of Grey

He’s the Australian hunk who was once the front-runner to play leading man Christian Grey in the blockbuster trilogy Fifty Shades.

But Luke Bracey claims he was never upset about losing out on the iconic role.

In an interview with Adelaide Now, the 28-year-old star stated: ‘I don’t really get disappointed when I miss out on films. If I [did], I’d never get a year through this business.’

‘I don’t really get disappointed when I miss out on films: Luke Bracey spoke with Adelaide Now about missing out on the iconic role of Christian Grey in the blockbuster Fifty Shades franchise

Back in 2013, Luke’s name was on the short-list alongside Alexander Skarsgard and Billy Magnussen to play Christian, a handsome millionaire with a BDSM fetish.

The career-making role eventually went to Irishman Jamie Dornan, who was catapulted to the top of the A-List when the first film was released two years ago.

The erotic flick made a whopping $571 million US dollars at the box-office. The second film, released earlier this year, grossed an impressive $381 million US dollars in ticket sales.

But Luke has taken missing out on being the star of a billion dollar movie franchise in his stride.

‘Once I walk out of an audition, I just try to completely forget it,’ he told the publication.

Easing his pain is the fact that he has had considerable success since his time playing bad boy Trey Palmer on Home and Away eight years ago.

In his interview with Adelaide Now, Luke laughed over the differences between low-key Australian sets and the fancier ones in Hollywood.

‘At Home And Away, there’s a table next to the assistant director’s desk with a toaster on it. There’s peanut butter or Vegemite, and a kettle,’ he exclaimed, before adding American movie sets are far more extravagant.
