MAC announces permanent price cuts on lipsticks, eyeshadows and mascaras for Australian customers

Cosmetics giant MAC has announced it’s permanently slashing the price on lipsticks, eyeshadows and mascaras. 

The cult brand, a favourite with makeup artists and beauty aficionados alike, will be introducing the price cuts across all Australian outlets Monday 14 October. 

Keen shoppers will be thrilled MAC’s extensive range of lipsticks, which includes over 200 colours and nine textures, has been reduced from $36 to $30.

The discount has been extended to include single eyeshadows, reduced from $33 to $29 and single-wand mascaras, previously $42, now $39.

For the past few years, the brand’s products have been subject to pricing fluctuations due to exchange rates, manufacturing costs, shipping and GST.

However, according to Nicole Thompson, MAC Cosmetics Director of Make-up Artistry, MAC is now more committed than ever to offering Australian shoppers the most competitive prices.

‘You asked and we listened! Gone are the days of listing up your besties when they head overseas with all your make-up must-haves,’ she said.

‘Now you can shop MAC at competitive prices locally and still have change to spare for a cocktail or two!’

Customers have taken to social media in their droves to say how thrilled they are by MAC’s price cuts

News of MAC’s price cuts has been met with an outpouring of support on Instagram where a post revealing details has received over 2,000 reactions.

‘You rock! My favourite lipstick brand,’ wrote one thrilled customer.

While another added the price cuts meant they could now return to shopping at the brand for their favourite products.

‘I’m so excited! Hopefully, some cult foundations will come down in pricing too (eventually).’
