Made In Chelsea’s Cheska Hull admits she ‘lost her life’ on the show

Former Made In Chelsea star Cheska Hull says she ‘lost her life’ while starring on the reality show.

The reality star turned PR, 37, shot to fame on the E4 show back in 2011 and was part of the original cast alongside the likes of Ollie Locke and Binky Felstead before her shock exit in 2014.

Looking back on her time on the series, Cheska recalls struggling with fame, loneliness and trolling during her three-year stint, telling how she ‘couldn’t go anywhere without people saying horrible things.’

Though she seemingly enjoyed a fun and A-list lifestyle lifestyle among the posh Chelsea set, in reality, living in the capital left Cheska ‘depressed and struggling’, with the star forced to leave London for the sake of her mental health.

In a new interview with Closer magazine, Cheska opens up about her time on the show in which she felt ‘alone’ and was ‘typecast’, while detailing that she’s now happier than ever living in her blended family.

She said of her time on the show: ‘I’d lost my life. I couldn’t go anywhere without people saying horrible things. It was all-encompassing, but there was no one to talk to about it. I just felt very alone.

‘I had a long-term boyfriend while I was on Made In Chelsea, but they always made out I was single. You’re playing a role, as much as it’s not scripted. They will typecast you: Binky is very much the girl next door. Ollie is the gay best friend. I was kind of the single Bridget Jones, even though I wasn’t single. It’s meant to be real, but then you can’t show your real sides.’

The former TV star went on to reveal that when she and her pals first started on the show, they had ‘no idea what we were doing’, with Cheska even having to set up Binky on social media following the first episode.

While she happily lives her live in Devon with son Charlie, five, boyfriend Damian Cook and his two teenage daughters, life wasn’t always so idyllic for Cheska while she lived in her native London.

Speaking candidly, Cheska told how she was gripped with depression and even struggled to get out of bed, revealing that she had no choice but to say goodbye to London to save herself.

She said: ‘Leaving London was something I knew I had to do, deep down inside. I was very depressed and struggling. Everything became difficult – getting out of bed in the morning, saying yes to social engagements, being with friends. I knew in order to get my mental health back on track–and to be me again – I had to leave.’

She added that though starting her life again was ‘a really tough thing to do’ and left her with the feeling of failure, looking back she’s glad that she took the leap and is ‘proud’ of herself for doing so.

These days, the now brunette beauty is happier than ever, having recently purchased a home with Damian, whom she met last year on the school run.

On her low-key lifestyle on the coast, Cheska says her life is ‘so different’ from her past, but is equally ‘amazing’.

And she credits her move down south to her family as she remarked that she ‘probably wouldn’t have my son today’ if she hadn’t of left.
