Resurfaced photos reveal Layton has dressed up as the Man of Steel in the past to help out the charity.

‘We don’t mind sharing a celebrity around, the son of one of our amazing volunteers Shelby,’ the organisation wrote on its Facebook page.

Capes 4 Kids Australia has given away 57,692 superhero capes to sick children in hospital since 2014.

Layton previously appeared on a number of reality TV shows, including Channel Seven’s Blind Dates in 2016 and Nine’s Wipeout Australia in 2009.

His appearance on the former was a memorable one, with Layton confessing he and his on-screen partner Lani Starkey hooked up four times after their blind date.

In a resurfaced interview, a sheepish-looking Layton was grilled about whether he ‘loved’ Lani, but refused to give a straight answer.
