The 2023 season of Married At First Sight is just weeks away and fans are already slamming new groom Jesse Burford for his ridiculous list of ‘turn-offs’.

In a trailer released last month, Jesse rattled off deal-breakers, which included things like ‘star sign chicks’ and women who start sentences with ‘honey’.

After Channel Nine uploaded the promo on Instagram on Wednesday, viewers were quick to slam the marriage celebrant for ‘hating women’ just for being women.

‘You’re never going to meet someone that ticks all the boxes. You need to stop looking for perfection and understand their imperfections,’ one person said.

Another commented: ‘He’s better off just sticking around his mum, cause any other woman he ain’t putting up with.’

‘Does he even like women? I think his list might eliminate them all,’ wrote a third.

Someone else joked Jesse was unable to attract any women ‘so turned it all around as though he isn’t into it’.

They went on to say the emcee wasn’t likely to turn away any ‘attractive chick’ who ‘pouted his way’

Despite the criticism, there were some who agreed with Jesse’s list, with one saying: ‘That guy is speaking facts, girls. If you wanna know why you’re single, listen to him!’

Others commended him for knowing ‘what he wants’ and being ‘honest about it’.

‘At the end he will be loved like Al [Perkins] last season. I remember clips of him last year and the comments were the same initially,’ someone wrote.

The matchmaking show’s promotional video introduced viewers to Jesse, who revealed he had a list of things to avoid when it comes to dating.

'He's better off just sticking around his mum, cause any other woman he ain't putting up with,' one viewer commented

‘I actually brought a list,’ he told producers, as he unfolded it from his pocket.

‘All my turnoffs (are girls who are) addicted to their phone, motivational quotes, vanilla, basic, boring.

‘[Those who] don’t listen and don’t even let you speak… Star sign chicks, drama queens.’

Jesse went on to say that he also doesn’t like ‘chicks who pout’ and any girl who begins a sentence with the words ‘honey’, ‘sweetie’ or ‘oh my god’.

Among his list of demands, Jesse said he doesn't like 'chicks who pout' and any girl who begins a sentence with the words: 'honey', 'sweetie' or 'oh my god'
