MAFS: Domenica Calarco drops bombshell about ‘nude photo scandal’

The ‘nude photo scandal’ that rocked Married At First Sight this season is the subject of an ongoing NSW Police investigation.

But the woman at the centre of the controversy, Domenica Calarco, appears to have just confirmed the photo leak was not a criminal act.

Speaking to Yahoo on Thursday, Domenica seemingly acknowledged the photo in question was sourced from Twitter, not from behind an OnlyFans paywall.

Bombshell: Married At First Sight’s Domenica Calarco has seemingly confirmed her ‘leaked’ nude photo was actually sourced from Twitter and not behind an OnlyFans paywall

She said her OnlyFans was not even active at the time of filming, so the only way anyone could have accessed her racy photos was via links on Twitter or Reddit.

‘If you clicked the link [to my OnlyFans] you would’ve seen that it wasn’t active and it would have taken you nowhere,’ she said.

‘It was all left online because, yeah, it was a link on a Twitter account or a Reddit account. Big deal.’

This appears to be the first time Domenica has publicly acknowledged the ‘leak’ was not a private photo from her OnlyFans – which many viewers had assumed it was – but was instead an image posted on her public Twitter account.

She had used the Twitter account to promote her OnlyFans.

'It was a link on a Twitter account': This apparent admission could affect the police investigation, as it could be argued that Domenica did not have a reasonable expectation of privacy if she was posting intimate photos on Twitter in order to advertise her OnlyFans. This apparent admission could affect the police investigation, as it could be argued that Domenica did not have a reasonable expectation of privacy if she was posting intimate photos on Twitter in order to advertise her OnlyFans.

As defined by section 91N of the Crimes Act 1900 (NSW), an ‘intimate image’ is an image of a person’s private parts, or of a person engaged in a private act, in circumstances in which a reasonable person would reasonably expect to be afforded privacy, according to Hamilton Janke Lawyers.

In Domenica’s case, a reasonable person could argue that posting a suggestive image publicly on Twitter meant she did not have the same expectation of privacy as, say, a woman sending her boyfriend a nude selfie.

Domenica’s Twitter account, launched in November 2020 with the handle @Sunday09692571, featured ‘teasers’ of her saucy OnlyFans content – including the nude photo that was exposed on MAFS during filming last year.

She reportedly deactivated her OnlyFans profile when MAFS producers asked her to, but rival bride Olivia Frazer was able to find the Twitter account.

A source claimed Olivia was trying to dig up dirt on Dom when she discovered her OnlyFans past, and saw it as a way to embarrass her rival.

‘Olivia hit the jackpot when she found out Dom had actively promoted her OnlyFans profile on YouTube, and even had a Twitter page dedicated to it,’ they said.

After reportedly being discouraged from taking legal action against Olivia and the other MAFS cast members while filming was taking place last year, Domenica called in the lawyers in March as the scandal unfolded on TV.

She was pictured with her lawyer arriving at Newtown police station where it was believed she spent nearly three hours speaking to officers about her leaked nudes.

A NSW Police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia on Thursday the investigation into the distribution of the intimate image was ongoing.

Radio host Kyle Sandilands has previously cast doubt on claims the ‘nude photo scandal’ was somehow a criminal act.

He said in March Channel Nine ‘has a team of lawyers’ who ensure everything that goes to air is legally sound, making the police complaint a total waste of time.
