MAFS groom Telv is the ‘brother’ of Aboriginal activist

Married At First Sight groom and fan favourite Telv is believed to be the brother of prominent Aboriginal activist Tarneen Onus-Williams.

Daily Mail Australia understands Telv, a single father from Western Australia, is related to Tarneen – who organised of Melbourne’s ‘Invasion Day’ protest.

 Ms Onus-Williams made headlines after declaring she hoped Australia ‘f***ing burns to the ground during the rally, while Telv made his television debut on Monday night.

The pair are both pictured happily posing in an apparent family photo posted to Facebook on Wednesday alongside two others with the caption:’Siblings’.

The 24-year-old has also previously spoken about her brother Telverne in a post on her blog ‘Dat Blak One’.  

In the post, Ms Onus-Williams explains how Telverne helped raise her, and taught her how to ‘throw her middle finger up’ from a young age. 

Perth-based mechanical fitter Telv endeared himself to MAFS fans on Monday night when he ‘married’ beauty therapist Sarah, 38.

The single dad was described by fans as a ‘real man’ and the ‘nicest bloke’ on the show after delighting viewers with his beaming smile and gushing display over Sarah.

Meanwhile, Ms Onus-Williams made headlines after leading a crowd of thousands in Melbourne, as they flooded Spring Street and Collins Street, carrying placards and shouting slogans. 

‘We have not organised this to change the date. We have organised this to abolish Australia Day because f*** Australia. F*** Australia, I hope it f***ing burns to the ground,’ Ms Onus-Williams, who identifies as a Yigar Gunditjmara and Bindal woman, said.

She later refused to apologise for the comment, which she said was meant to be a metaphor.

‘It was…not actually a statement to be taken literally. I just want everything, all the governments to fall apart, because our people are dying and nobody cares and the whole system needs to change,’ she said.
