MAFS’ Lauren Huntress on how she lost 8kgs… and it involves eating more food

Married At First Sight star Lauren Huntress, 31, reveals the secret behind her 8kg weight loss after the reality show wrapped… and it involves eating MORE food

Former reality star Lauren Huntress has shed 8kg since Married At First Sight ended last year.

And Lauren, 31, took to Instagram on Thursday to share details of how she went from an ‘overweight’ 72kg down to a healthier 64kg.

The MAFS alum posted a photo of her from last year alongside one of her now to illustrate her weight loss journey.

Then and now: On Thursday, former MAFS star Lauren Huntress (pictured), 31, revealed the weight loss secret which saw her lose a 8kgs since the reality show wrapped… and it involved eating more food

Lauren, a former staunch vegetarian, attributed her slimmer figure in part to eating a diet containing more meat.

‘I was constantly bloated, filling up on carbs because I was a vegetarian and not eating the proteins that I should have,’ the blonde wrote in the photo caption.

She added: ‘I have recently started reintroducing meat back into my diet. I was a vegetarian for six years for ethical reasons. But my body was craving meat … so I gave in and since doing so I find my diet is much healthier and the protein keeps me fuller for longer.’

But Lauren’s healthy weight loss is not all down to diet – she also revealed she hits the gym ‘four to five times a week’, ‘walks everywhere’ and takes weight management supplements.

The MAFS star attributed much of her initial weight gain to lack of time and energy for training, all due to a hectic work schedule

She said she was also unhappily searching for a romantic partner, which only compounded her weight problems, and gave her a sore back.

She added: 'I have recently started reintroducing meat back into my diet. I was a vegetarian for six years for ethical reasons. But my body was craving meat ... so I gave in and since doing so I find my diet is much healthier and the protein keeps me fuller for longer'

Now ‘happily single’, Lauren said she is ‘content with my life and myself’.

Last year on MAFS, the bubbly blonde was ‘married’ to 29-year-old virgin Matthew Bennett.

The relationship crumbled however and the couple split acrimoniously before the show ended.
