MAFS’ Martha Kalifatidis cries in public after her ‘break-up’ with Michael Brunelli

Married At First Sight’s Martha Kalifatidis had a public meltdown on Monday – conveniently in front of the paparazzi – after her alleged ‘split’ with Michael Brunelli.

The 31-year-old makeup artist wiped tears from her eyes while buying red wine from a bottle shop in Sydney’s Bondi Beach with her sister, Sophie.

Martha appeared to be reading text messages on her phone, after she and Michael had shared a number of texts to Instagram that same day which indicated they had broken up.

It’s widely suspected the ‘break-up texts’ saga is part of a sponsored content deal with an Internet service provider.

During the trip to the liquor store, Martha showed off her abs in a beige crop top and high-waisted cargo pants.

She went makeup free and styled her brunette hair in loose, tousled curls.

Her sister, Sophie, wore a black tracksuit and was seen looking over Martha’s shoulder as she scrolled through her phone.

On Monday night, Martha and Michael shared a number of text messages to Instagram which appeared to suggest they had split.

The couple, who met on season six of MAFS in late 2018 and are self-isolating together in their Bondi apartment, both uploaded screenshots highlighting their emotionally-charged exchange.

Martha also posted a video to her Instagram Story in which she revealed she was sleeping alone. She also insisted she ‘deserved better’ than Michael.

In the texts, Michael, 28, asked his girlfriend if she was ‘joking’ when she said she was fed up, and told her she was being too dramatic – but Martha ranted on.

She wrote: ‘You know I don’t play Michael, I don’t have time for this. I’m so busy, I have work to do. I need better support, I want a better connection! I just need more everything.’

When Michael asked his girlfriend what had changed, she complained: ‘We have had hassles every single day and it’s just an unnecessary burden on me.’

‘I can’t do mediocre, I want the best! I’m so fkn done!!!! I’m upgrading. Bye bihhh’.

Michael captioned his screenshots: ‘I’m not about to go into a back and forth, but honestly this is so dramatic…’

Martha, likewise, captioned her own texts: ‘2020. Didn’t think it could get any worse.’

'I deserve better': In a video shared to her Instagram Story on Monday night, Martha lay alone in bed and told her fans, 'Since we have been spending so much time at home, and we can't leave, so much s**t has come my attention... I am so frustrated. I am so over it'

In her Instagram Stories video, also shared Monday night, Martha lay alone in bed and told her fans: ‘I have the whole bed to myself which I am really excited about.

‘Since we have been spending so much time at home, and we can’t leave, so much s**t has come my attention. Things I just didn’t know were happening and I am so frustrated. I am so over it.

‘You think you sign up for one thing and you get another. I am so done. I am too old for this. I know there is better out there and I know I deserve better.’
