Married At First Sight’s Matthew Bennett debuted his new girlfriend on Thursday, wrestler Annabelle, after his split with TV ‘wife,’ Lauren Huntriss.
And now their co-star Melissa Lucarelli has revealed how Lauren is coping with the news.
Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, Melissa said that Lauren is ‘pretty hurt’ and that their split is ‘getting really messy.’

‘She was saying she was pretty hurt by it but she’s doing okay, so that’s good,’ Melissa told the publication.
Melissa even admitted that she had no idea that Matthew had a new girlfriend.
‘That was a bit crazy, that was so unexpected,’ Melissa said.
She added that she hopes Matthew and Lauren can put their split behind them, saying: ‘They’re both such awesome people and I hope that it all goes okay.’

Matthew, 29, appeared on Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa on Thursday for his first interview since leaving the show, debuting his new girlfriend and talking about his split with Lauren.
‘There’s been relentless contact towards me and I actually asked her to stop contacting me a couple of weeks ago,’ he claimed, when asked whether he’s been in touch with Lauren since filming the show.
When asked whether Lauren seemed aggressive and upset in the messages, Matt said ‘yes’.

Matt claimed he began receiving Lauren’s messages before MAFS went to air, and that the content of the texts had nothing to do with the way they were being portrayed on the show.
Rubbing salt into Lauren’s wounds, Matt also used the interview as an opportunity to debut his new girlfriend Annabelle, who he met not long after leaving MAFS last year.
‘It’s ironic, I got everything I asked for in the experiment, I just had to leave the experiment to get it,’ he mused when quizzed about his new love story.

British-born Annabelle revealed she met Matt at wrestling training in December, and has still never watched MAFS.
The brunette beauty also revealed that Matt told her he was starring on MAFS by showing her an advertisement for the show, in which he was seen running through a hedge maze looking for a bride.
‘We started getting on and he showed me a video of [the MAFS contestants] running through mazes and I’m like, ‘What is this, a gardening show?’
