MAFS: Michael Brunelli thought he’d won the $80M Powerball jackpot

Married At First Sight’s Michael Brunelli thought he’d won the $80M Powerball jackpot… only to realise he’d actually won just $10

Michael Brunelli thought he’d hit the jackpot after reading an article about a ‘missing’ lotto winner, but soon discovered his win was far less impressive.

The former Married At First Sight star recalled the amusing story on Friday in a series of photos shared to Instagram.

‘This is the story of when I thought I won $80million,’ he wrote, sharing a screenshot of a news article about an Aussie who ‘had no idea’ they were the Powerball winner.

Oh, dear! Michael Brunelli (pictured with Martha Kalifatidis) thought he’d hit the jackpot after reading an article about a ‘missing’ lotto winner, but soon discovered his win was just $10

Michael then posted a screenshot of his emails, with the top email from the Lotto that read: ‘Congratulations on your win.’

‘Within 0.2 seconds, I had already started living my new $80,000,000 life,’ he captioned the next picture, which was a photo of him with his hand over his mouth and images of a luxury resort, a yacht and a private jet in the background.

The fortune wasn’t meant for Michael, however, as it turned out he’d won just $10.40.

‘So close,’ he said of his small lotto win.

Michael rose to fame on the 2019 season of Married at First Sight, where he found love with Martha Kalifatidis.

And while he’s smitten with his reality star girlfriend, Michael revealed this week he doesn’t quite feel the same about his other co-stars.

‘What’s the worst part of being a reality TV star?’ a fan asked during an Instagram Q&A.

Michael crossed out ‘reality TV star’ in his response and wrote ‘being on reality TV’.

The former PE teacher then explained: ‘We met on reality TV so I can’t knock it too much.

‘The worst part? Being associated with some of the peanuts they cast on reality TV.’
