MAFS: Olivia claims producers ‘staged’ Domenica’s nude photo scandal

Olivia Frazer has cleared up some misinformation about the ‘nude photo scandal’ that rocked this year’s season of Married At First Sight.

The teaching student, 28, was accused of sourcing and distributing an ‘intimate photo’ of rival bride Domenica Calarco during filming last year, thereby outing her as an OnlyFans model.

While the matter remains the subject of a NSW Police investigation, Olivia addressed a few rumours about the scandal during an Instagram Q&A on Thursday.

Olivia made four main points: firstly, she insisted she never ‘slut-shamed’ Domenica by sharing her nude photo among the cast.

Secondly, she alleged she didn’t send the image to anyone electronically, and simply showed her co-stars the picture on her phone.

Thirdly, she claimed the photo at the centre of the scandal was not behind an OnlyFans paywall and had actually been posted by Domenica on her public Twitter account.

And lastly, she speculated that producers were aware of Domenica’s OnlyFans and related social media profiles and wanted the other participants to discover them.

Olivia also admitted the whole saga was ultimately a drunken mistake.

After being asked by a follower ‘what actually happened with the OnlyFans photo’, she said she’d been drinking when she showed the photo to her co-stars, but stressed that no one was ‘mean about it’ and there was ‘no slut-shaming’.

She added they were mostly just curious as to why producers had allowed Domenica to have public social media accounts during filming when the rest of the cast had been ordered to lock down their Twitter and Instagram profiles.

‘It was not an OnlyFans photo. It was a photo that was posted on her [Domenica’s] Reddit and Twitter to advertise her OnlyFans,’ she began.

‘It was not behind a paywall. I did not send it to the whole group. I showed [my phone to] the people who I was with, which was a small group of five or six of us, when I received the photos [from a friend].

‘And I say photos because it wasn’t just one photo, it was all the open [public] social media platforms.’

Olivia continued: ‘No one ever slut-shamed her.

‘We were just questioning why she was allowed to have open social media pages when everyone else had to have theirs shut down.’

Hinting at a conspiracy, she added: ‘We were wondering if producers had left it up on purpose to maybe create a storyline.

‘We just had the Simon Blackburn scandal. I think producers intentionally left it all up as entrapment to create a storyline, which they got.’

While Olivia said she suspected foul play on the part of MAFS producers, Channel Nine’s head of content Adrian Swift has previously said they do not stage storylines.

Mr Swift told Variety Australia in April: ‘We don’t make things happen and we don’t excise anything that has happened.’

Setting the record straight: It comes a week after Domenica (pictured) confirmed the police investigation into her nude photo leak was still ongoing, after questions were raised about the source of the image and whether its distribution among the cast constituted a criminal act

Olivia latest remarks come a week after Domenica confirmed the police investigation into her nude photo leak was still ongoing.

The Sydney-based makeup artist, 28, spoke out about the scandal in an Instagram video last Friday after questions were raised about the source of the image and whether its distribution among the MAFS cast constituted a criminal act.

A day earlier, she had seemingly confirmed in an interview with Yahoo that the photo at the centre of the controversy was discovered on Twitter or Reddit and not behind an OnlyFans paywall, which many fans had assumed was the case.

Domenica told her followers the source of the photo was not relevant, and the reason why she made a complaint to police was because of ‘what that image was used for and how it caused me pain and hurt’.

‘That is the issue here,’ she said.

‘It is not where the image came from and sourcing the image off the internet. That has been dealt with [by] the image abuse commission.

‘The issue that I have right now is the reason that the image was taken off the internet and how it was used with the intent to cause me harm.’

Domenica confirmed the police probe was ongoing and that the investigation had not been affected by her saying the photo may have been sourced from Twitter.

She also said she had never specified the image in question was from OnlyFans, only that it ‘came off the internet’.

Domenica had told Yahoo last Thursday her OnlyFans was not even active at the time Married At First Sight was being filmed, so the only way anyone could have accessed her racy photos was via links on her Twitter and Reddit accounts.

‘If you clicked the link [to my OnlyFans] you would’ve seen that it wasn’t active and it would have taken you nowhere,’ she told the website.

‘It was all left online because, yeah, it was a link on a Twitter account or a Reddit account. Big deal.’

She reportedly deactivated her OnlyFans profile when MAFS producers asked her to, but rival bride Olivia Frazer was able to find her then-active Twitter account.

A source claimed Olivia was trying to dig up dirt on Dom when she discovered her OnlyFans past, and saw it as a way to embarrass her rival.

‘Olivia hit the jackpot when she found out Dom had actively promoted her OnlyFans profile on YouTube, and even had a Twitter page dedicated to it,’ they said.

After reportedly being discouraged from taking legal action against Olivia and the other MAFS cast members while filming was taking place last year, Domenica called in the lawyers in March as the scandal unfolded on TV.

She was pictured with her lawyer arriving at Newtown police station where it was believed she spent nearly three hours speaking to officers about her leaked nudes.

A NSW Police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia last week the investigation into the distribution of the intimate image was ongoing.
